Good Sunday, everyone. A few showers and storms continue to impact the eastern parts of the state as we get set to close out the weekend. Once into the new week, we will track a chilly blast of air that may have you thinking it’s early October.
Let us, as always, begin with today.
Highs are back into the 75-80 degree range today with a mix of sun and clouds. A mix of sun and clouds will be noted yet again with the greatest cloud cover being in the east. This is also where the threat for some showers and storms will be. Similar to the past few days, this action isn’t very widespread but can put down locally heavy rains.
Here are your radars for the day…
Monday looks like a pretty good day as temps spike into the low 80s on a southwest flow. That flow is ahead of a powerful fall cold front dropping in from the northwest on Tuesday and early Wednesday. Showers and some storms will be possible along and ahead of this boundary with a few wraparound showers behind it for Wednesday.
Temps behind this are almost chilly for this time of year. Highs for Wednesday and Thursday generally run in the upper 60s to low 70s with lows reaching the 40s by Thursday and Friday mornings.
The setup after this should feature another trough diving in for the weekend and early the following week. At the same time, Hurricane Lee is likely to zip northward toward Nova Scotia and/or New England.
The EURO is the most threatening to New England and the deepest with the trough around here…
Here’s what things look like at the surface on that run of the Euro…
The Canadian is farther east with the track of Lee, but is just as stout with the next trough swinging in…
That would bring another blast of early October temps to our region.
As far as Hurricane Lee is concerned, this storm continues to be no threat to land over the next 5 days. Here’s the latest information and forecast track from the National Hurricane Center…
I’ve got some winter talk coming your way in the week ahead!
Have a great Sunday and take care.
Thanks Chris. Looking forward to the pleasant Fall weather mid to late week, and your discussion on what the Winter weather may be.
