Winds will be very gusty with this front and the Hi Res NAM has some 40mph gusts…
The NAM is a little lower with the gusts, but still reach 35mph…
Temps come way down behind the low on Friday with much of the eastern half of the state in the 50s. With gusty winds and showers around, that’s pretty dreary for some.
A system drops in behind this for Saturday and it may bring a few showers with it on this strong northwest flow. Behind this comes the chance for a widespread frost Sunday night and Monday morning. Temps may even drop below freezing in a few spots…
Temps begin to climb early next week and thermometers take off for a few days into the middle and end of the week when the 70s show up. That milder wind looks to reverse in a hurry by the end of the week into Halloween Weekend as cold air surges in from the west and northwest…
That could get really cold, folks! Can we get a little something else to come along for the ride? Hmm
The various ensembles are on board with cold air surging east to end the month and start November…

I will have another update later today so check back.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and take care.
I actually didn’t mind the cool and overcast the past few days because it made it feel much more like fall… I still can’t believe how LITTLE rain we’ve had…
I don’t think anything else will come along for the ride.
I like to see some rain come with the storm Thursday.
These systems that were getting are not moisture starve. But we are getting a lot of cool shots that what fall should feel like. Pray that much needed rain will come soon. Have a good day!!
We’ll be lucky to see any rain out of this next system. It continues to be bone dry in South Central Kentucky, and as tinder dry leaves begin to pile up, the chances for brush fires also increase, especially when you add stiff winds to the mix. The Fall weather we’re experiencing is significantly chillier than what we’ve seen in recent years, where extended periods of warmth were interrupted by brief cool shots.
Only around a tenth of an inch of rain is predicted for the Chicago Metro Area with the scattered showers tonight and tomorrow, followed by several days of nice fall weather with sunny days and chilly nights before the warmup next week.
The Metro Area received plentiful rains that added up to around an inch and a half last week from the on-and-off rains we experienced from Wednesday through Saturday.
