Tracking A Late Week Cold Front

Good Tuesday, folks. Our Election Day is a winner in terms of the weather with mild temps and mainly dry skies. We have one more day of windy and warm weather this week before changes blow in by Thursday as a cold front slides in.

Your Election Day features temps topping out in the upper 60s to middle 70s for many areas. The day will feature a mix of sun and clouds and just the smallest chance for a few sprinkles or passing showers. If those show up, they will show up on our radars…

Southwest winds REALLY crank on Wednesday as temps surge into the 75-80 degree range. That southwest wind then continues Wednesday night and early Thursday as a cold front presses in from the northwest.

Gusts of 30mph or greater will be possible but the Hi Res NAM has some gusts pushing 40…

A broken band of gusty showers will accompany the front on Thursday as it slows down on top of us. A wave of low pressure then develops along the boundary and brings an increase in rain for parts of the region Thursday night and Friday. The greatest chance is across the east and southeast…

Much colder winds come in behind this as our temps go back to near normal. Highs over the weekend will drop into the 50s with lows in the 20s. We keep similar temps going through the first half of next week before temps turn mild again. That’s when temps can make another run at 70 degrees for a few days toward the end of the week.

I continue to point toward Thanksgiving week for much colder changes to settle in. The EURO Ensembles continue to show this change…

The Control Run of the EURO Ensembles are much more emphatic…

I will have another update later today. Get out and vote and take care!

Not a lot of moisture in our part of the world. Know when we’ll see some? The busiest travel day of the year, of course. Thanksgiving Eve.

Here in Maple only a few hundreds of an inch of Rain may Fall within the next 14 days. This is the driest Fall I have ever experience in my 72 years. We need a Rainy, Mild Winter to recharge the soil moisture for next Springs planting season.

Mark, I think the storm track may be finally shifting. The good news is that the PDO is finally phasing towards the positive. which means we may have an impact from El Nino starting at the end of the month. Please don’t hold me to this. LOL…..
