Good evening, everyone. It’s a brutally cold weekend across Kentucky as thermometers get set to drop well below zero once again tonight. Beyond that, we find a much different pattern taking shape for the week ahead.
Lows this morning were below zero in many areas…
Tonight’s lows will be well below that with many areas in the -5 to -10 range with a few areas dropping to -10 to -15. WOW! Wind chills drop a few degrees below that, folks.
As mentioned, the pattern for next week continues to feature milder temps and a lot of rain. This southwest flow will send several heavy rain makers our way from Tuesday into next weekend…
The models continue to spit out some healthy rainfall numbers that are concerning…
I’ll go more in depth with this setup and looking ahead toward another, potentially, harsh winter pattern coming in February with my next update.
Have a great evening and take care.
With rainfall amounts like that falling on ground that’s frozen solid, there is serious potential for flash flooding. Hopefully, the NWS will issue Areal Flood Watches.
