Good Sunday to one and all. Much of the region continues to deal with pleasant weather out there today and this looks to carry us into day one of the new week. Beyond that, we will be watching for the weather to go in reverse, possibly bringing us some rain from the east.
I’ll be tracking that potential and looking toward something cool showing up later in October.
Highs today are back into the 80s with dry skies across central and eastern Kentucky. Just like Saturday, a few showers and storms may still impact far western Kentucky as Francine’s ghost slowly fades away.
Here are your Kentucky Weather radars…
The system developing off the southeastern seaboard will likely become a tropical depression at some point over the next few days. This may even become a named storm…
The overall pattern should take this system inland around Myrtle Beach and then take it to the northwest, possibly into eastern Kentucky by Tuesday or Wednesday. The spaghetti plots from the GFS Ensembles show a lot of members bringing this into the Bluegrass state…
The future radar from the Hi Res NAM only goes through 8am Tuesday but it clearly brings this system into Kentucky. Watch the spiraling bands of rain and storms across central and eastern Kentucky…
The WRF goes through the same time period and has almost the exact same look on the future radar…
The regular ol NAM goes through Wednesday morning and has a similar look…
The GFS goes deeper into the week and shows how this system may keep throwing some showers and storms across the eastern half of the state into the end of the week…
For areas getting in on full clouds and rain Tuesday and Wednesday, afternoon temps may not get out of the 60s.
This pattern may try to develop another tropical system off the southeastern seaboard late next week or into next weekend.
Looking farther down the weather road, the EURO Weeklies go through the end of October and the latest run found a touch of winter for the final week of October. Check it out…
It’s almost that time of year, kiddos!!!
Have a great Sunday and take care.
The EURO weeklies won’t be right
Francine’s gift of 1/2” certainly helped, which makes us long for more. However, the system from the east looks too good to be true – for us. It wouldn’t be surprising to see moisture-starved clouds flowing over us on gusty breezes. Sigh.
I wish (snow the last week of October–even just flurries) but dont think it will happen…especially not during this brutal hot & dry year 🙁
