Good Sunday to one and all. Rounds of showers and a few thunderstorms are rolling across Kentucky today as a cold front sweeps in from the west. This is part of a much more active early November setup with the CHANCE for a little winter to show up before Thanksgiving.
Today’s rain is heaviest across western, central and northern parts of Kentucky. This is where 1″-3″ of rain will fall. Farther south and east, amounts will be much lighter with the folks in the far southeast not picking up on much at all.
The showers will exit the region early Monday as dry air quickly takes control through the day. Monday is a really nice day and so is Tuesday.
Another front drops in from the northwest later Wednesday into Thursday and should bring another round of showers and a few thunderstorms…
Temps briefly chill to normal right behind that but should bounce right back up by next weekend.
Changes look to show up in the week before Christmas as the pattern alignment becomes more conducive for a deepening trough across the eastern half of the country.
The EURO Ensembles have a good signal for that trough digging in…
The average of the approximately 100 members that make up the EURO Ensembles show the potential of some flakes that week…
The single run of the EURO Ensembles also shows the possibility…
The GFS Ensembles are a little more optimistic on the flake chances during his same time…
Is this the beginning of a more favorable stretch of weather for those of us who enjoy winter? That’s certainly on the table and the EURO Weeklies have normal temps for our region in the 30 day period ending on Christmas Eve…
The single run of the EURO Weeklies goes with slightly colder than normal solution during the same 30 day period…
As always, I leave you with your soggy Sunday tracking tools…
Have a great Sunday and take care.
