Good evening gang. The cold air is surging eastward across the bluegrass state and our temps are in the process of taking a major tumble. A drop of 25-30 degrees will be possible in just a few hours late this evening and overnight. I have you set to track it and a few words about Friday.

Temps early this evening are in the 50s and low 60s and will drop into the upper 30s and low 40s by midnight for some. Temps will hit the low and mid 30s by Friday morning.

Track the tumble…

Current Temps

Our cold front checks up just to our south tomorrow allowing for a wave of low pressure to work northeastward along it. This will bring a swath of light rain across much of the state with the best chance along and south of Interstate 65. Those rains are already showing up on regional radar…

Temps will be chilly with upper 30s to around 40 being the rule. There is a shot for the rain to mix with or change to a brief period of a mix or light snow during the afternoon and early evening. Both the GFS and NAM suggest this…

I will have a full update on the potential for Friday flakes and take a look at your Christmas week weather later tonight. By the way… a few models are bullish on a big storm leading up to the big day.

Have a great evening and take care.
