Good evening, everyone. Colder winds are blowing across the Commonwealth and now we await the arrival of the snow showers and periods of light snow Thursday into Thursday night. This is likely to put down some light accumulations for some.
We continue with the Winter Weather Advisory for later Thursday through early Friday across far southeastern Kentucky…
The light snow will be slushy and mainly sticks to the grass and elevated surfaces. Rooftops and cartops should turn while for a while in many areas, but roads will only be wet.

The forecast models have been remarkably consistent in showing periods of light accumulations. Remember, this isn’t showing snow depth, but just the amount that falls, including what melts…
Snow showers and a few squalls blow through central and eastern Kentucky during the day Thursday, reducing visibilities. The period of light to moderate snow then sweeps in from the northwest Thursday evening. That brings the best chance for some slushy accumulations to central and eastern Kentucky. One more round of rain and snow showers then sweeps in later Friday.

Winds are going to be very gusty during all this so you it may look like a flizzard (faux blizzard) from time to time. Wind chills will also be way down.
The weekend finds improving conditions with another cold front crossing the region later Monday. That only has a few showers with it, but knocks the temps back down behind it. That’s important with the next low pressure rolling through the region just in time for Thanksgiving. That brings rain and snow to our region.
