Good Sunday, folks. As the warm air continues to make its way into the bluegrass state, the threat for scattered showers and thunderstorms will be around. The action won’t be terribly widespread and will carry us into Memorial Day. That’s when our temps start to take off.
Thermometers today will make their way into the low and mid 70s for many. 80 is possible across the western parts of the state. Some clouds and a scattered shower or thunderstorm may be the uninvited guest to your backyard cookouts. You can track the action on regional radar…
Memorial Day Monday will feature temps well into the 70s with a similar chance for scattered showers and storms. The warmth will finally take over by Tuesday with readings into the 80s. From that point on… a surge of summer air controls our pattern. Temps will work into the mid and upper 80s as humidity levels increase on the moist southwesterly wind flow…
Scattered storms will eventually join the party by the end of the week or into next weekend.
I continue to watch the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean for the potential for early season tropical development. The European and GFS are both showing something trying to pop in that area in a week to 10 days from now…
Have a great Sunday and take care.
So so nice to have the windows cracked open at night, including with the recent unseasonable chilly nights.
Before we know it, the nasty heat and humidity will be here along with the high AC bills. For those like me that dislike heat and humidity, we need to enjoy this time. Except for an occasional and brief summer cold front, we won’t have much relief until September. Ah, I can already imagine the nice fragrance of firewood in the air and football season!
