Good evening, gang. We are officially out of our extended cold period and looking toward some milder winds for the next few days. Those winds bring in soaking rains that will be followed by another blast of winter weather by the middle of the new week.
The rain maker starts in the southwest and rolls across the rest of the state late Sunday into Sunday night. Widespread, soaking rains of a half to one inch will show up during this time. Lingering showers then carry us into Monday.
The Future Radar from the Hi Res NAM starts at 2pm Sunday and goes through Monday evening…
A cold front follows this up for Tuesday and will have a big time temperature drop behind it. Rain on Tuesday may end as a period of light snow Tuesday night into Wednesday across central and eastern Kentucky. Snow showers and flurries may then fly later Wednesday into Thursday.
The Canadian Model continues to have the overall theme of the forecast, but it does change the exact details from run to run. Here’s the latest animation from Tuesday through Thursday…
That run is putting down light accumulations Wednesday and Thursday…

I’ll see you kids back here for the full update later tonight. Have a good one and take care.
