Good evening, everyone. Colder winds are blowing across the region as we get set for a blast of winter later tonight and Wednesday. This isn’t anything major, but it will bring a couple of snow opportunities to the region.

The first round of light snow impacts parts of central and eastern Kentucky, with the greatest chance for accumulating snowfall in the east and southeast. Here’s the latest Call For Snowfall…

This matches up pretty well with the GFS and Short Range Canadian Models…

The late afternoon run of the HRRR looks to be on board as it expanded and intensifies this band of snow across the east and southeast early Wednesday…

Once that moves away, we wait for snow showers and a few squalls to kick un during the afternoon and evening. A few of these may be pretty stout and there’s the outside chance for some thunder to show up…

Reduced visibility and light accumulations will be possible with those.

We have another system coming this weekend but it’s a rain maker.

The EURO is trending colder with the systems that follow later next week into the leadup to Christmas. That’s something the EURO AI and the Ensembles have been showing. The EURO sees some snow chances with this setup…

That’s some pretty good cold with that, too…

I will have another update on WKYT later tonight. Here are your tools for tracking…

Enjoy the evening and take care.
