Good Friday, gang. We have one heck of a nice start to the weekend across the bluegrass state as cooler and drier air blows into town. This will set the stage for a pleasant Friday and Saturday for those who want to get outside and enjoy summer.

The nice start to the weekend doesn’t mean the weekend will end the same way. An increase in temps and humidity will lead to a few storms developing. That action will be rather scattered at first, but will increase into early next week as a cold front enters the picture.

That may lead to some rounds of strong storms and heavy rainfall…

Cold fronts are having a lot of success in making it pretty far south and that’s a trend I expect to continue through the summer. The 500mb pattern showing up on the European Model keeps a blocky look over the next 10 days…GFS 2 GFS 3That’s not a bad look for summer!

Make it a great Friday and take care.
