Good Friday, gang. We have one heck of a nice start to the weekend across the bluegrass state as cooler and drier air blows into town. This will set the stage for a pleasant Friday and Saturday for those who want to get outside and enjoy summer.
The nice start to the weekend doesn’t mean the weekend will end the same way. An increase in temps and humidity will lead to a few storms developing. That action will be rather scattered at first, but will increase into early next week as a cold front enters the picture.
That may lead to some rounds of strong storms and heavy rainfall…
Cold fronts are having a lot of success in making it pretty far south and that’s a trend I expect to continue through the summer. The 500mb pattern showing up on the European Model keeps a blocky look over the next 10 days…
That’s not a bad look for summer!
Make it a great Friday and take care.
Thanks for all the updates, CB. I do have a question, though. My twitter feed isn’t working on kyweathercenter, and was wondering if it would be back.
Thanks!
I mentioned that yesterday. It’s not showing up for me either. Would have been good to have yesterday when the storms were firing up.
Its not working for anyone, I would like it back also.
Experienced a first yesterday–being in a major airport during a tornado warning. I was BWI (Baltimore-Washington International) yesterday afternoon. When I saw the airport employees running for the tunnel and a green sky, I decided it was a good time to follow them!
Glad things turned out fine.

Message posting is seriously messed up. Automated spam filtering is going overboard.
Apparent spam filtering on the message board is still way overkill.
Chris Mercer, glad things worked out ok for you at BWI.
The Louisville tornado of 1974 first touched down just a few blocks north of the SDF terminal. Freedom Hall was seriously damaged.
SDF terminal now has deep tunnels between baggage claim and parking. Excellent storm shelters!
Dime-sized hail in Winchester!!!
