Good Monday to one and all. A scattering of showers and thunderstorms continue to roll across the bluegrass state today. These storms will be off and on for another day or so as our temps threaten to toast up toward the end of the week.

The action today isn’t going to make for a washout and you will have some dry hours with sunshine. Temps will be in the upper 70s to low 80s for highs. Any storm that blows up can become strong and put down heavy rain in a short amount of time.

Here’s your best good friend to help you out today…

A few more storms will be around on Tuesday as low pressure works across the Tennessee Valley. Temps will be similar to what we have today and that should take us into Wednesday.

Temps and humidity levels will be on the rise by the end of the week and into the weekend. That’s when the dome of heat to our southwest takes another jab at us. This won’t get in here, but will put is in a zone to watch for shower and thunderstorm development…

GFS 2

I wanted to show the whole pattern across North America as it continues to have a rather anomalous look for the middle of June.

What about July? The monthly forecast from the CFS…CFS 1

That places Kentucky in an area of normal to slightly above normal temps with wetter than normal weather. Does all that wet weather across southeast come from something tropical in the Gulf of Mexico? Probably, so. I think you may see something pop down there around the end of this month.

Have a great Monday and take care.
