Good Tuesday, folks. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms have been rolling across the bluegrass state over the past few days. These bad boys have been putting down a ton of water in a short amount of time. Additional boomers are on the way today and another round or two of heavy rain is sure to fall.

Parts of the state picked up 2″-3″ of water on Monday and experienced high water. The flash flood threat is back with us today as a few spots could see similar results. Let’s track the storms…

The heavy rain train will come to an end later tonight into Wednesday. That’s when some refreshing air blows back in here for a day or two.

Much warmer and more humid air will try to fight in here by late week into the coming weekend. High humidity will join the party that is likely to feature a few more guests… scattered thunderstorms.

The European Model is cranking out some action by Friday…

The real deal heat will stay to our west, but it will try to toast up around here. If you are big on trends forecasting… the trend of the summer has been for the heat to stay to our west with cold fronts having an easy time working into the bluegrass state. This is something we’ve talked about on since the spring and it’s something that shows no real sign of changing soon. Here’s the European Model for next Tuesday…

Yes… that’s another front dropping across the state with more showers and thunderstorms.

While I’m thinking about it… anyone interested in seeing some VERY early long range computer models for fall and winter? Those are always fun to look at, if nothing else. If you want to see them… speak up or forever be snowless. 🙂

Have a great day and take care.
