Good Thursday, folks. Our temps are about to take a walk on the tropical side of things over the next several days. Humidity levels will increase and this will lead to a daily threat for pop up showers and thunderstorms. This is a setup that’s like to carry us into early next week.
Temps today will be around 90 in the far west and low to mid 80s across central and eastern Kentucky. Some of the popcorn showers and storms may impact southern and western parts of the state.
The warm and humid air will really digs in this weekend with temps in the upper 80s across the eastern half of the state with low 90s in the west. High humidity levels will lead to a better shot for showers or thunderstorms with a flow coming off the western Gulf of Mexico.
The European Model is trying to produce some pretty big changes in the overall setup from this weekend through next week. Watch how the flow becomes very amplified in time…
That would certainly fit the pattern we’ve been in over the past few months. If that is correct… a shot of cool air would filter into the eastern half of the country toward the end of next week. That would also be accompanied by… drum roll please… rounds of storms.
Have a great day and take care.
Happy summer solstice at around 1:00 am Friday morning, looks like Mother Nature is going to turn up the heat right on schedule, this has nothing to do with the NBA final game either 😉
Who have you picked, or who are you rooting for? Just curious.
Neutral tonight, I like Lebron and Tim Duncan, so may the best team win!
Thank you Chris. Always love to see your take on the weather. Question…do you foresee any sustained hot weather coming up during our summer? I am beginning to think that summer has abandoned us. At least it is not baking like it did last summer! thanks again for all you do. Happy Thursday, everybody.
The International Space Station will be visible tonight from around 11:02 to 11:04pm. Here’s a link to information, map, & more.
