Good afternoon, everyone. Flooding rains and severe storms blasted the Bluegrass state overnight into this morning and we have another round on the way later today. This is part of a very busy setup that turns even uglier next week with snow, ice and flooding rains looking to become an issue.

Flood Warnings continue across parts of the state this afternoon. Here’s a look…

I would love to see another Flood Watch go up for parts of the state through this evening as more showers and storms rumble through. The greatest concentration is across the southern half of the state…

Another inch or so of rain is a good bet with some of those storms, meaning another round of flooding is possible. Stay alert.

We catch a break on Friday before a few more showers and storms rumble through Saturday and Saturday night. These may cause additional high water concerns across eastern Kentucky, especially.

The pattern from late Monday through Friday is very concerning for our region. Flooding rains, ice and significant snows are all a good bet in our part of the world.

While the details are yet to be ironed out, a ton of precipitation will fall around here as waves of low pressure roll along a stalled boundary just to our south. Where the rain/ice and snow lines set up will change from storm to storm and those won’t be known until much closer to each system.

The look on the models is just flat out ugly..

I’ll be on WKYT News starting at 4pm with full team coverage of the current nasty stuff and, of course, looking ahead toward the rest of the ugly stuff. Another KWC update will be on later this evening. Until then, let’s track more showers and storms across the state…

Enjoy the day and take care.
