Good Wednesday, everyone. We have a MUCH better weather pattern taking shape for the next few days. This comfortable brand of air will hang around into the 4th before things turn toward the typical July steam for the weekend. Beyond that, storms and cold front settle back in.

This post will also have a little sneak peek toward the winter ahead.

Temps today are mainly in the low and middle 80s with comfy humidity levels with mainly sunny skies. This same pattern takes us into Thursday as the temps come up from just a bit. There’s the slightest chance for a popcorn shower or storm going up.

The 4th of July looks pretty normal with highs in the 85-90 degree range for many.

Temps hit the low 90s this weekend and into Monday but humidity levels won’t be as high as what we just had. Still, the steam factor will be there and it will lead to a storm or two going up.

The storms threat will increase Monday and Tuesday as we go into a pattern featuring a big dip in the jet stream showing up later next week. The Canadian Model has a good look at the increasing action…

The model also has a nice dip in the jet late next week into the following weekend…

Much of that depends on what happens with a possible tropical system developing near Florida. The National Hurricane Center is upping the chances for something to pop off the southeast coast…

Looking farther down the road is now looking a lot like what the GFS Extended has been showing of late. Check out the mid July to mid August area of above normal rainfall from the Gulf into our region…

The model is also showing near normal temps during that same period…

Looking even longer range with the CFS, we find the last average of the last 10 days worth of model runs showing normal to slightly below normal temps through September…

If you’re already longing for winter, the average of the last 10 days worth of runs from the same CFS is showing a colder than normal winter…

We will be talking more and more about the winter in the coming days and weeks. Eeep!

Enjoy the day and take care.
