Lexington will break into the top 10 wettest summers on record today and will continue to climb the ladder through the rest of the month. I think we can squeeze our way into the top 5 before all is said and done. How did the winters turn out after a top 10 wettest summer? While we did have a few clunkers (1974 and 1998)… we had several blockbuster winters that followed. I will get into all of that next week.
Why do I think Lexington can crack the top 5 wettest summer list? Here ya go…
GFS 2 week rainfall forecast…
Have a great Friday and take care.
So, Chris, do you think it will rain? 😉 Wow! Been a long time it seems since we have had a few nice days pieced together in a row. Would really like to see a few more. But I am learning to run between the drops, for the most part. Hope it holds off for Fan Day, though. Thanks, Chris, for all you do. Have a great Friday, everyone.
A trace of rain over nite in my area of Frankfort, seems like the rains hit and also miss the same areas everyday!
Todd: Be thankful! I for one am tired of mowing every six day when we get into August. We don’t need any rain right now. A few brown spots in the yard as we go into August and September is not such a bad thing!
.20 inch of rain the last 10 days in my yard, we could use just a half inch or so to keep the garden happy, I know a lot of folks has seen terrible flooding and I want no part of that!
My yard was starting to turn brown so I was glad to get .5 inches last night. That’s all that we’ve had here so a bit more is fine by me. We have been the “miss” of the hit or miss pattern.
I might go the entire summer season without having to water anything in my yard. On the flip side, I have to mow every other day.
No complaints. 🙂
Test
I will make it short. I have only received a trace of rain here in Louisville all week.
I’m guessing you tried to post a longer comment but it didn’t go up. Same has happened to me lately sometimes.
Every comment is different about how much or little rain there has been. Here in semi-central (a little west) Lexington has had a doughnut hole with very heavy rain in north and south lately but not here in west central with half an inch and 1.5-2 for the rest.
Still haven’t seen any rain in my area worthy of the flash flood watch that was issued but that’s not a bad thing I guess
Has anyone noticed how fast Fall is coming upon us? The leaves are changing earlier than I have ever seen….interesting-what does it mean?
mild winter 😉
