Good Saturday, folks. A stationary front continues to hang around our part of the world and this will keep the threat of showers and thunderstorms going today. With the high moisture content of the atmosphere… torrential rains will be likely with any shower or storm action going up.
That means you will need to keep a close eye on creeks and streams if you get under one of those cells. You can follow all the stuff on regional radar…
The action may take a bit of a break as we head into Sunday and early Monday… especially across the north. Don’t worry, it cranks back up late Monday into Tuesday with a setup that can deliver additional rounds of heavy rains into the middle of the week.
That’s when some of the models deliver a shot of very cool air. The GFS morning low temp forecast…
The GFS Ensembles are also on board with that same shot of cool…
One thing to watch for late next week into next weekend… a cutoff low forming somewhere nearby. The pattern looks like it wants to go in that direction.
Speaking of going in a direction, check out the GFS in Canada in about two weeks from now…
It’s never too early to start looking north to see when the flakes start to fly and that would be early… assuming the model is correct. 😉
Have a great day and take care.
Tried commenting twice. It doesn’t go through.
I wonder how many people actually try to comment and just give completely up?
Me
is it 1975 again, interesting?
Possible jackets for the first day of school? 🙂 interesting lol
Mild winter is what we will see 🙂
CPC has
Sorry, I meant CPC has below average temps next 2 weeks. I wonder if we will warm back up to upper 80’s to 90’s again. Also I’ve noticed the sensitive trees have some leaves changing colors even to red already.
I know! I’ve been asking everyone I know if they notice that the trees are changing…green hues are lightening, yellows and reds are becoming more pronounced. Some dogwoods and some maples have plunged fully into Fall with many red and orange leaves,,,
Heaviest rain of the week in Frankfort at the moment, once we get to a 30 percent chance here it comes, strange that on our 80 percent days we stayed dry??
Very heavy rain in Richmond over the two hours… I would guess two inches at least!
Is there a connection between metor showers and rain?
This weather has been downright tropical for the past four days. The lows in Lexington have been 72 and the highs 84, 84, 84, and 81 with around a half inch of rain each day.
