Good Wednesday, everyone. Toasty temps and high humidity levels have combined to make for a steamy weather period across the commonwealth of late. This air is about to get kicked out of here and will be replaced by a serious blast of fall temps. Between now and then… things may get a little bumpy with scattered storms going up.
Those storms will be out there today and could contain a lot of lightning and torrential rains. Here’s regional radar…
The showers and storms on Thursday will be along and ahead of our fall cold front. That means some of these may be on the strong side and that’s something to keep a close eye on. The air coming in behind this front looks awesome…
Highs from the upper 60s to low 70s will be common for central and eastern Kentucky for Saturday and Sunday. Western areas will see low to mid 70s. Overnight lows may drop all the way into the low 40s for many and that could threaten record lows.
It’s not often you see a air mass this far below normal…
That’s some of the good stuff!
Have a great day and take care.
Whats the weather looking like temp and precip wise for next weekend? Sept. 20-22?
Humberto is a hurricane somewhere in the Atlantic. I bet the NHC is throwing a big party.
Never Forget!
Fall needs to get here already. It feels like 95. Hopin’ some of the cooler air can make it into middle Tennessee. Maps are nothing but teasers if they don’t transpire.
Come on cold front, a little rain would be nice also, very dry again in Frankfort area!
The tropics have gotten active quickly! Talk about a close call, Hurricane Humberto had formed at 5am this morning. The record of hurricane Gustav as lastest first hurricane still stands, only by a few hours.
To far north one day and to far south the next 🙁
