Good Tuesday evening everyone. I wanted to share some snow pics we have received from our Christmas weekend snow and some thoughts on what is ahead of us.
What may be ahead…
– Keep an eye on Wednesday night and Thursday morning in the north and east as some light freezing rain will be possible.
– Milder air will push in for Thursday with showers likely and temps in the low and mid 40s.
– The last day of 2010 will feature temps in the 50s and showers.
– A strong cold front will sweep eastward New Year’s Day with temps that will drop rapidly from west to east. Rain and a rumble of thunder will be widespread just ahead of the front. Readings will spike toward 50 ahead of the boundary then fall toward freezing behind it.
– There may be just a touch of flurry action Saturday night.
– Keep an eye on next Tuesday and Wednesday for a system trying to work out of the southwest. This can bring our next wintry threat.
– The long range call for the end of next week and beyond looks VERY wintry… again!
Here is a look at some of the pics I promised…
Kim from London
Tim in Knox County
Crystal in Pike County
Kim in Harlan County
Momma from London
Mitch from Versailles
…
Have a great evening and take care.

Thanks for using the pic…and looking forward to more snow and cold…I was hoping Jan./Feb.. wasnt gonna be blah..so lets gear it up for the next snow event…:) I heard ole henry saying the same thing as Chris about the 6-7th…he said the heavy snow would be more west than the last, and that sure bodes well for ky…:)

Saw earlier today wkyt had heavy rain threat on new years day. With all the snow around could we be looking at a threat for high water? Was wondering about that, if so I need to get prepared now due to living in a flood prone area. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
How much snow on the 6th for my back yard Tim?
Most weather sources are trending colder for January NOW! Jumping on Chris’s band wagon! I love how the Home Brew weather folks on this blog throw out this winter with bogus none scientific projections for the rest of this winter. If this winter has proven anything, it is that long range outlooks of more than a week or so is a total guess! Chris has been the only accurate weather source so far this winter! So, keep doubting, & Chris and the rest of us will keep laughing!!
LOTS More Snow to come!!!!:) :)!!
I’d also watch BWG in the morning temps should be in the 23-26 range around 12z right as precipitation arrives could be a period of freezing rain for the morning rush.
Yes I would take it with an Alert status because all of this snow melting quick will be bad. Also the ground will become unfroze and saturated
I read that article……Thanks for that Chris
So I wonder if the cycles are decadal? That would sort of make sense but not completely.
Hey Chris! Thanks for using my pic! I can’t wait for the cold and snow to return. I’m not ready for winter to be over just yet!
