Good Monday, folks. Fall is officially off and running and mother nature is giving us a taste of the good stuff. Don’t get too spoiled by it… our weather pattern is about to crank it up a bit. That means the threat for showers and thunderstorms returns sooner rather than later.

Highs today will top out in the in the 70-75 degree range for many areas. This comes on the heels of a chilly start to the day with low and mid 40s. Can we get some upper 30s in the coldest valleys of the north and east?

Tuesday will find a disturbance diving into the region from the northwest. This will actually close off for a time into Wednesday…

That will draw up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the end result will be scattered showers and storms returning by late Tuesday. The best chance for showers and storms will be Wednesday into early Thursday . The European Model has been all over this…

That will keep afternoon highs below normal due to clouds and showers.

The weekend will start off on a very nice note for Friday into much of Saturday. That will change as a cold front enters the picture Saturday night and Sunday. Gusty showers and thunderstorms will likely march across the state during this time.

IF the European is correct with that depiction… temps may not get out of the 50s for a couple of days, at least. We shall see.
