Good Saturday, everyone. Our half and half weekend is underway and today will be the pretty part of the weekend marriage. This will all come crashing down as we head into Sunday as a cold front swings into the region. This front may pale in comparison to what moves in here for next weekend.

Highs today will be in the upper 70s to around 80 under mostly sunny skies. This is a great day to get outside and get your fall on.

Sunday will see a cold front sweeping in from the west. A line of showers will move across western Kentucky during the early morning and then into the east by the late afternoon. Temps will spike into the 70s ahead of the clouds and ran. This isn’t a washout of a day and the showers will weaken the farther east they go.

Showers will hang around into Monday with upper 60s to low 70s.

The threat for scattered storms will be with us for much of next week as highs return to the 70s.

For some time now, I have been talking about this pattern becoming very amplified as we head into early October. The models have been jumping on and jumping off of this scenario. They are finally all jumping on the end of next week into the following weekend. The European Model shows one heck of a trough…

The GFS is even showing a similar setup…GFS 2

That could mean some very wet and windy weather to start next weekend and the potential for frosty cold weather to end it. As we say in the TV world… stay tuned.

Enjoy your day and take care.
