Good Sunday, friends and neighbors. We’re starting out the day on a frosty note across much of the bluegrass state with temps in the low and mid 30s. If you think this is cold… just wait until you see what’s coming in a few days. As the title says… this is one heck of a cold pattern we’re going into.
Highs today will warm toward the low 60s under partly sunny skies. Monday will start with upper 30s and end with low and mid 60s. Winds will gust up ahead of a fast moving cold front. That system arrives Tuesday morning with a lot of wind, showers and cold air…
Man, that is one nasty looking start to the day!
The next system dives in here on Wednesday and works across the Ohio Valley from west to east. This will bring more wind, showers and even colder air. With such cold air moving in aloft… we continue to see the small potential of a few flakes or a touch of sleet mixing in…
Temps Wednesday should only hit the low to mid 40s for highs. That may be generous for a few spots. Keep an eye out for another disturbance or two to dive in from the northwest behind that one. Regardless… the air coming in behind the Wednesday system is COLD. It’s rare to have the potential for 3 straight mornings in the 20s in October…
We could challenge a record low or two before all is said and done.
Another front will dive in from the northwest Saturday night and Sunday. This could bring similar conditions to what we see on Wednesday.
I continue to hone in on an even bigger push of cold Halloween week…
Think things change as we head into early November? The temp departure forecast from the GFS Ensembles says, think again…
As I stated several days ago, I will be surprised if we get through the first week of November without seeing the first flakes of the season.
Have a great Sunday and take care.
The temperature dropped to 33 degrees this morning in Crab Orchard. A very nice though light snowscape frost was everywhere.
Frosty start this morning in Lawrenceburg! Almost looked like a light dusting of snow on the ground!
35 with scattered areas of frost this morning in Frankfort, hopefully a pattern like the one coming shows up in December or January!
The fog saved us from frost in Knox and kept it from being any colder than what it is
What a gorgeous fall day today was. Such a beautiful sky!
Weather works in cycles, and always balances itself out… so, Im guessing at some point in November or December we may get a really warm streak?
