Good Monday, weather peeps. Our colder than cold weather pattern continues to take shape across much of the country this week into next. As I’ve mentioned before… this thing looks a lot like winter. Can it actually produce a taste of winter weather around here? Time will tell.
Let me give you some friendly advice…enjoy today. Highs will hit the 60-65 degree range for many as high clouds increase. Those clouds are ahead of a cold front that arrives early Tuesday. That will bring a band ofshowers and gusty winds with it. Temps will be in the chilly 40s as the fast moving band of rain moves through. Some afternoon clearing may allow temps to hit the low 50s.
That sets the stage for the next system to work across the Ohio Valley on Wednesday. That will bring a heck of a shot of cold air with it as showers break out. It continues to be possible for a wet flake or a touch of sleet to mix…
Highs Wednesday will struggle in the low and middle 40s. Temps may hit the upper 20s by Thursday morning. That’s when we may see another fast mover in here with more ofthe same. Highs in the 40s will continue to be with us through Friday.
Another system dives in here Saturday night and Sunday. That may bring similar weather to what we see this Wednesday.
Wow… is that busy enough for you? If not… the pattern continues to favor even colder air diving in here next week. That arrives just in time for Halloween…
That is just absurd to see on a forecast model at this time of year. Obviously, that’s still over a week away and timing and actual readings will vary. But,this strong signal has been with us for a long time now.
Fun times ahead! Make it a great Monday and take care.

That time of year, again!!!!! Hoping for snow!!!⛄️❄️⛄️❄️⛄️❄️⛄️
This is all very exciting. I hope people don’t start there “Trick-or-treating will have to be cancelled due to the cold or possibility of snow” that you hear every year cold or snow is threatened here on Halloween night. Layer it up and hit the streets. Haha.
Minnesota got 5 inches of snow in spots this weekend, let the fun and games begin!
The low temps being 6-12 degrees above normal most nights for the first couple of weeks this month, was also absurd (though not as hype worthy).
That’s just simply untrue. We had a week of colder than normal temps and lows in the 2nd week of the month. If you’re gonna throw “hype” at me… You should be able to back it up with facts. Take care.
In Lexington through today we have the following ratios of low temps
10: above normal
8: below normal
3: normal

The Paducah office also has a video (click here) concerning some of the unique risks of fall and winter twisters.
Fortunately, the Storm Prediction Center does not see much chance of severe wx for our area anytime soon.
