Good Tuesday, everyone. Our big storm system is still on track to have a significant impact on our weather as we head into Halloween. This is a potent storm that will bring a lot of rain, wind,  and the potential of strong and severe storms.

We have a nice surge of milder air coming in ahead of this system. Temps will hit the 60s today with the threat for a shower or thunderstorm going up. Here’s regional radar…

Wednesday will warm close to 70 degrees in some areas as scattered showers and thunderstorms return… especially in the west and north. Those will impact temps.

The real action begins on Thursday as low pressure rolls from the plains states into the Great Lakes and drags a cold front across the state…

Here’s a quick breakdown of the day…

– Widespread rain and thunderstorms will work eastward through the day into Thursday night.

– Heavy rainfall of 1″-2″ will be likely for much of the state.

– There is a tremendous amount of wind energy available. Wind gusts approaching 40mph will be a good possibility.

– Can we get some strong or severe storms? The potential is there… especially across the western part of the state. The latest severe weather threat for Thursday from the SPC:

Timing will be everything in determining how much strong or severe storm action we get into. Damaging wind will be the primary threat.

Leftover showers scoot out of here early Friday as we await the arrival of another cold front over the weekend. That one has a quick hitting shot of cold air behind it…

That may have a few rain showers ahead of it on Saturday. There is still a small chance for a few flakes to mix in across the east Saturday night.

Another big storm system is likely to roll our way by the middle of next week as our yo yo pattern gets going.

I will continue to monitor the Halloween storm system and have updates as needed. Enjoy your day and take care.
