Good Halloween Evening. Winds continue to pose a big threat this evening into the wee hours of the overnight. Gusts of 50mph will continue to be possible as rounds of showers and thunderstorms work eastward. There continues to be the risk for isolated tornadoes for some areas.
For that reason… a Tornado Watch has been issued for parts of western and central Kentucky until 2am EDT. Here’s a look at the watch outline and the latest warnings…

Here’s the rest of your severe weather trackers…
Rapid updates via twitter. Happy Halloween and take care.

You think it will be extended farther east after 2AM?
I can’t answer for Chris. Right now there is only one tornado warning and it is in Mississippi. The only way the watch will be moved east is if warnings are popping left and right.
it is
Is Chris talking about the tornado watch moving over toward Lexington?
More towards Bowling Green and Hopkinsville. If the line holds together no doubt Lexington will be included later.
Already, numerous Tornado Warnings for southern Illinois and the bootheel of Missouri. Close to Paducah.
Hot off the press: A new Tornado Watch for south-central KY and much of western TN. Nashville and Bowling Green are included.
Storm spotters in Pope County Illinois (just north of Paducah KY) have spotted a tornado. People “downwind” obviously need to be prepared to take cover.
Extremely windy conditions at manowar and tates creek. Not much in the way of precipitation though. Hard to judge but seems to be straight-line up here on the hill. Already blew over trash containers and some kiddo toys
Wild. It is 71 degrees right now, so warmer than it was during the day. Lots of energy.
North Richmond.
Watch out Paducah!! Tornadic t-storm heading your way (rotation indicated on radar).
That is the one dangerous storm. The rest of the line is weakening somewhat. Will see if it pulses back up or not.
Yes. Fortunately, that cell lost much of its indication of rotation once east of Paducah, now a severe t-storm warning.
I’m hoping and praying that it dies down before it reaches S.E. Kentucky. I am so afraid when it’s storming or high winds.
Severe Thunderstorm Watch now for northern KY (and much of Ohio).
An isolated twister is still possible but less likely than back to the west. Strong damaging straight-line winds will be the threat with the highest probability.
Hope everyone is staying safe out their tonight this weather is really crazy. I live in Lewis Co. Ky and the wind here is tearing everything up left and right and it sounds like a wind tunnel out their. I just hope the weather doesn’t get too bad up my way being paralyzed and all makes it hard to take cover from bad weather. Everyone in these storms paths stay safe!!! And thank you Chris for such fast updating on twitter keep up the great work!!!
Wow! Wind is CRAZY here in Lexington and it’s only getting harder! Lex Mesonet showed gust of 46 MPH!!! I was outside and the tall trees are bending almost 90 degrees! Power keeps flickering almost turning off at times. Keep hearing loud bangs from outside and tree branches cracking. So when were about to reach the peak of fall color we have to have a windstorm. A tree’s leaves in my backyard was just beginning to turn yellow/red and now it’s almost all fallen. Also radar is showing intensity in the line of storms moving towards Lex, it may get really nasty. Have a safe night everyone and stay safe!
Wind is NUTS! Extreme rains just came through………….Normally when the most intense extreme part of the rain is gone, the wind calms down, but now it seems as if it’s worse than when the severe t storm moved through
Wow! The front just blew through Louisville. Power is out across the road from me. The lightning was weird. It was like in the winter when you would get thunder snow.
Estill now has thunder storm warning. The wind is crazy!!!
storm just came thru morehead. I love storms but this one scared me because it was the first time I thought a tornado was about to strike. Saw a big bright flash and then stuff started hitting the houee and there was an intense roar and I could sense a pressure change. power is still off I guess I will know in the morning if a tornado is has hit. it was very intense and dangerous
Never heard wind like tonight before! Wind was a CONSTANT roar with gusts much higher. The storm came through about 1:15 – 1:30. Lights flickered once, but stayed on. I would love to know the wind speed when the storm came through here. Awesome!
November literally came in like a LION, and then some!
The lightning was very similar to what you would see with thunder snow in the winter time.
