Good Sunday, weather weenies. Our weekend is wrapping up on a chilly, but dry note. The dry weather will continue into the start of the first full week of November. That won’t carry us through the whole week as another strong cold front is on the way.
Temps today will hit the upper 40s and low 50s with a partly sunny sky. Readings will drop toward the high 20s and low 30s to start Monday with afternoon readings hitting the low to mid 50s.
We continue the dry weather on Tuesday with temps closing in on 60 degrees. Winds will begin to pick up from the southwest late Tuesday into Wednesday as a storm system comes together. This won’t be as strong as the one from last week, but will bring another round of rain and wind our way.
Our rain chances will work in from west to east late Wednesday into Thursday as a cold front swings in…
Heavy rain and wind gusts of 30mph will be possible from Wednesday night into early Thursday. Check out the steep drop in high temps behind the front… ![]()
The temp anomalies…
From there, we start to see the modelling diverging a little bit. The European now sweeps another trough through here next weekend, keeping the seasonally chilly air in place…
Here’s what the same model is forecasting for highs and lows in Lexington for the 6-10 day period…
Have a great Sunday and take care.
The roller coaster starts. Keep your hands inside and hope for some snow!
I’m greatful for the brief warm spells in between the rain and cool temperatures. It gives me time to rake all the leaves during the warmth,in between the rain knocking the leaves off the trees. Once December gets here I don’t care if it snows everyday. I am so ready for an ole school winter. I hope this winter is the one.
My better half (wife) and I just got back from a weekend trip visiting family in the Chattanooga/Cleveland TN area where I lived during my teenage years. We were treated to gorgeous foliage. If anything, the colors in southern TN may had been more vibrant than in Nashville and in Kentucky.
Many trees from Nashville to Bowling Green were still relatively green when overnight temps dropped into the low 20s sometime ago which might have ruined the colors a bit. In contrast, perhaps the cold in southern TN was less harsh thus better colors. The leaves in southern TN seemed a little better able to withstand the strong winds from a few days ago. Anyway, it was a fantastic display along I-24 between Nashville and Chattanooga.
Hey ‘Blizzard Tim’, thought about ya 😉 , Cleveland TN of course is just down the road from you. Hope you are enjoying the nice colors!
