Good Tuesday, everyone. Our system to the west of us continues to slowly inch toward the bluegrass state and will arrive by later Wednesday. That will usher in some chilly changes for the second half of the week. Longer term changes are also showing up for later in the month.
Let’s start with where we are now. Clouds will continue to stream in from the southwest today. This will go along with a gusty wind that will bounce our temps up into the low 60s for many areas. Winds will really gust up as we head into Wednesday. That’s when the actual front arrives in western Kentucky.
That front will then swing eastward Wednesday night and early Thursday. Here’s a breakdown:
– Showers arrive in western Kentucky Wednesday morning and roll into central and eastern parts of the state during the later afternoon and evening hours.
– The rain will end quickly from west to east Thursday.
– Winds may gust toward 30mph at times as the front swings in.
– Temps will take a big tumble with readings in the upper 40s for highs Thursday. Lows by Friday morning will drop into the upper 20s.
Seasonal air will be with us Friday into Saturday as winds begin to gust up. Those gusty winds will be ahead of another system rolling across the Great Lakes over the weekend…
The air behind that system has been trending colder with each passing day.Check out the temperature anomaly from the European Model for Sunday…
Highs by Sunday may struggle to get to 50 degrees and only into the low 50s by Monday. Lows back into the upper 20s will be possible during this time.
I want to stress… this is a pattern that should be producing much milder temps than what it looks to give us over the next week. That said… I do expect a very mild period at some point during the middle of the month. 70 or better should be with us for a couple of days.
After that happens… the CFS shows flip to colder by the end of the month and carries it into December. Look at the temp departure in Celsius…
We will see if that holds any weight. I do think we have some big cold shots coming during the end of the month and early December… but I expect more of a back and forth to continue.
Have a great day and take care.
If no serious snow threat us coming ill take this 60 degree weather, feels great outside, if November stays mild maybe December will Rock us with some winter weather?
is 😉
Winter is pretty much always the same around here. Yeah we might have a big snow storm once in awhile sure. Temps 45-50 degrees most days. Most of the time it’s too warm for snow and we get rain instead or ice. I think some people forget when it does snow, two days later it’s 60 degrees and sunny.
Currently 70 in Nashville and sunny 😛 .
Indeed, some of us at work even enjoyed an outdoor lunch despite the occasional stiff breeze. Of course, such opportunities will be few and far between the next few months so it was good to take advantage of today.
Otherwise, can’t even see – much less experience – the nice wx as I’m in a windowless interior office 🙁 .
