Good evening gang. Here is a quick update to get you caught up on the latest advisories and warnings that are out for all but two counties across the state…
I have no changes to my snow forecast and its good to see others coming along toward some of the numbers we have been throwing out in recent days. I will have a final call map out later this evening.
Here are some tools you need to track the storm into the area…
Current Temps
Have a great evening and take care.

Thank you Chris for the update !
WOOHOO
Chris, Thank you for the dedication, and for this forcast. Hoping we are in the 6 of the 3-6 inches. You are Legit Chris, totally Legit
Funny how quiet the postings are right now (Lose KY Lose!!). It’s like the dry slot to a snowstorm!! Enjoy the next 5-7 days everyone.
phooey to you! win KY win! and snow, snow, snow.
This is a weather blog hosted by Chris Bailey not Ky Sports Radio hosted by Matt Jones.
To quote an immortal line from a movie filmed in Kentucky!……….”lighten up Francis”. I am just poking fun. Enjoy this weather! BTW, Matt Jones and Lachlin McLain are the Rush Limbaugh of talk sports!….BLOWHARDS
GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!! And come on snow!
u can see the cols air will never catch up tio ther prcip line, only thing u can hope for is UPLSOPLOPPEEEEEEEEE 1-3 INCHES.
yeah defiantly the radar returns are not great. Cold air not overtaking the precipitation at all. Only hope is the system can slow down some, if not we may lose a inch or so from the totals, and a faster system also means less back end snow because it clears teh area much faster.
GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!! π and hope everyone stays safe and warm thru the storm!!
There is nothing wrong with talking sports on the blog as long as its friendly Chris don’t mind just don’t talk politics
Check out radar returns filling in out in northern Missouri, this will throw Upper Level low snow rolo :).
Here is a really neat 24 hour radar loop.
http://www.eldoradocountyweather.com/current/usradar.html
The storm is rotating nice, and remember that CB said have patience… Bulk of our snows will be Sunday night~Monday morning…
Well, I am just going to wait and see what Chris says with his later update..I do know that the rain is here, and while we were out shopping, the temp went from 54 to 43 after it started…either way, it is still going to be a brutal and dangerous storm.
there isnt a warm front moving through, them temps will drop like they normally do after the sun goes down then the cold front moves through.
NW Lex. Masterson Station
42ΒΊ w/rain
Patience gang… Geez…
Brother Rolo (aka Rolocoaster), we are NOT supposed to get much from this first round. It is the second round tomorrow. As CB has said, best case is 1″ to 2″ of mushy stuff, since the main snow event is tomorrow and the warm air today / tonight.
Rolo…last time i checked Chris is the met with the experience, not you so ill go with Chris’s forecast
I was thinking the same thing…LOL…giving up before it even gets here…lol….
Hey Vinny, loved the link to the Radar cool site.
Vinny…You know how anxious all get when snow is mentioned in the blog. I always did the same thing when I first started being a fan of Chris’! All these years later I’ve mellowed out a bit and let it come or not!
We must all be patient!
Oooohhh! That is really awesome! Thanks for sharing it!
We are under a winter storm warning in Pike and surronding counties love it.Christmas Vacation is on my favorite Movie lol.
Chris Baily is a proven met. and an excellent one too.. His forecast are always on the money.. I trust his forecasting abilities 100 percent… It’s annoying to see people not educated in forecasting weather to question his maps and forecast… I notice while reading the blog, that some think if Kentucky isn’t hammered with 20 inches of snow in 12 hours that the storm is a bust…Well i for one trust CB and is excited about his forecast for this storm…Thank you Chris for the hard work u do!
One again Mr. Flip-Flopper (ROLO) is already downgrading when the event isn’t even going to get going until tomorrow. ROLO acts like he knows it all, but it’s obvious he doesn’t I agree with you Sara.
ROLO stick to what you know best – sleeping.
Here is a cool site too.
http://www.vuetoo.com/vue1/Situationpagenews.asp?af=&sit=27&z=&np=
Low way to far north to provide and decent wrap around moisture. Forcast for 1-3 and 2-4 for Lou. Area will not be close. We will get the usual dusting to 1/2 inch with brutal cold over the next couple of days. Am jumping off this train and onto the mid week chance of snow and ice. Hate to say it, but Accuweather nailed this one from the beginning and always took the low north through great lakes.
Another good radar map is here http://www.intellicast.com
It will be interesting to see how this week and next week pan out. DT mentioned the possibility the pattern could break down around Christmas as the Greenland block retrogrades into western Canada. Don Sutherland has posted some pretty good info that the AO is tanking right now and is predicted to stay that way for a about four to five weeks. He is mentioning the possibility this winter could resemble the la nina year of 1995-1996. That was a pretty good one that featured a major arctic shot the first week of February.
Crystal, let us know your fortunes over the coming hours
well said, and i agree! π
u have to be blind not to see after the rain line moves thru thats it, till tomm evening when so upslope takes place, once again 1 maybe 3 for lower elevation idf that.
just drove down to lexington from my place in covington….5 degrees colder there than down here. raining alot harder there too. i75 is a madhouse…
lol
repeat..Chris is the met, not you Rolo
Great post it appears that heavy snow is now entering the Kansas City area.
It should be north, since the weather impacting the area is tomorrow.
Are you related to our buddy Rolo? π
If later tomorrow afternoon is wimpy, THEN we should all jump on the downhill portion of the Rolocoaster π
Why so serious?
Watch out! For most of that movie, they used foam, since it was too warm for most of the set time. The outside opening Christmas tree hunt scene and sleigh scene were the only times with snow.
CV trivia fact π
Is there a hillbilly to english translator around here?
KENTUCKY WINS!! GO BIG BLUE!! π
Yeah the front rain shield is through parts of western Kentucky. Many thought it would slow down but it is not and temps here still in the low 40’s. What is more impressive is the dry slot behind the low. Can you say bust.
We all see that the FROPA wont give us much snow, but that is expected.. Whats associated with the LP will be our problem after the FROPA, then the upslope… It’s good to have conflicting views on here.. it makes it less boring lol
Your opinion is as good as mine, But yea, I disagree with your total snow forecast rolo but kudos to you for sharing it.
Everything still going according to forecast. Both the GFS and NAM soundings in BUFKIT was spitting out around 6″s of snow in London. I feel very confident in Chris’s forecast totals as well as my own.
We all see the the frontal passage will not leave enough moisture for initial band snow, but this has been expected for what.. 48 hours now? What we are worried about the the moisture associated with the LP after the frontal passage. Then the upslope, little or no snow with this initial band or not, totals will not change much.
Your opinion is as good as mine, but I disagree with your forecast, kudos to you for sharing it though
I am not seeing that arctic blast of cold air from west to east as quick as I hoped.
We all see the the frontal pasage will not leave enough moisture for initial band snow, but this has been expected for what.. 48 hours now? What we are worried about the the moisture asociated with the LP after the frontal pasage. Then the upslope, little or no snow with this initial band or not, totals will not change much.
Your oppinion is as good as mine, but I disagree with your forecast, kudos to you for sharing it though
Well, looks like bullying isn’t just for kids. If you don’t agree with someone’s opinion, fine. But at least be adult about it and quit acting like a 2nd grader.
I am no weather expert but I would follow the moisture on radar out in Mo. Lets see how this will develop in the next few hours.
My buddy Patty
Its just one of Chris’s rules not mine i don’t care what you talk about
Ryan, thank you for that reasoned reply which did not bash Rolo. Rolo is a true blue weather freak. He loves weather and this blog. He is the one who pointed me to this blog. Never understand why people want to demean him when he is simply passionate and there is no bigger fan of Chris Bailey than Rolo.
Thanks for the Nugget Shane!!!!
Hey, I come on here to see the forecast. I myself do not want snow but come on here to see what may happen. Just because someone shows there opinion about the weather saying no snow or little snow you grown ups want to bash. I work for a living and my job requires me to be there whether it is bad or not. So I myself don’t want snow but I am not bashing anyone for wanting it. this is a weather blog. thats it. grow up.
The only place the cold air has caught the font moisture source is near green bay. So the cold air is still far away. The one thing that has me puzzled is central Kentucky is colder than some places in North central Indiana.
Hey MikeM!! Are you working tonight or just at work? LOL!
Lets talk about the Obama Socialist agenda or is fox news a legit news organization. Didn’t I tell you people that this would happen.
Hey MikeM!!! Are you working tonight or just at work!? LOL!
My turn for moderation!
Back off Sarah, you’re irritating.
Hey MikeM! Are you working or just at work? LOL!
agree!
Still don’t see the wrap around reaching our areas:( No relation to ROLO…This can lead us all to insanity.:) Love CB’s blog and reading all the comments. Earlier today WAVE3 was talking all Rain to Blizzard conditions for Sunday. I guess we will have to wait and see and I hope your correct.
http://aviationweather.gov/adds/satellite/displaySat.php?region=EVV&isingle=mult_big&itype=wv
The front appears to be closing in on the MS River now. Going to be many many hours before the backend moisture reaches us. I hope y’all don’t plan on staying up tonight waiting for it to snow. π
Tom, I am not seeing that temperature discrepancy your talking about according to Chris’s maps but what I am seeing is at this point it looks like the southern winds from the upper level low are more dominant than the energy coming from the northwest at this point. I think that is going to change in the next few hours.
Wendy, don’t harrass me!!!! Whats irritating is some people act like the’re professional mets and are nothing near it… So wendy your bullying is unacceptable…so scat
Ok folks, now this is getting good. Most of you bloggers here remember dusting 1998. Most if not all of that moisture came spinning down from the northwest into KY. (upper level low) Dusting predicted 20in. fell in Frankfort over a 2 day period. I’m not predicting 20in., but I would wait until Sunday morning & look whats dropping in from the northwest before giving up on this one!
2 to as much as 6 inches Frankfort area by Monday afternoon. You heard it here first from a winter weather geek that grew up in the oldschool winter’s of (1977-78)
Rolo is a retard. The man can’t go a single post without some spelling mistake. Why you all like him is beyond me.
moderation lol
Please don’t be so rude Echo(I don’t know your real name, so I am addressing you with your chosen alias). We come here for fun and weather nerd fellowship. Can we agree to disagree?
yeah it is not a big difference but still a little one. Ky Mesonet has my area at 41. While Terre Haute is 42 according to the national weather service.
Todd, Remember the Martin Luther King Holiday Storm of 1994. I don’t think that was predicted to be much either. I loved it.
Folks don’t forget that most of the energy is going to come from the back. The STL and Kansas City were not even supposed to get much. KC got a couple of inches and the STL is now under an advisory.
I think Louisville, Lexington, and Ashland will all still do well with this event. I think Chris has nailed the totals. Time will tell tomorrow afternoon and night.
THINK SNOW!
and Todd, I will back you up on that, from one ‘old-schooler-to-another’! π
Thats what we need to do around here for snow foam lol.
Your correct the main snow line is way back in kan.city. That is about an eight hour drive from lou, avg. 65 miles an hr.
Stop the bickering folks… the Grinch is watching and rude comments are being deleted. Don’t make me bust out the ban gun! π
Chris, you are too busy for that! Give me the gun I’ll take care of it π
YES, Frankfort was freezing rain most of the evening with a down grade to 1to3 in. of snow. Well, morning came & 20+ inches were on the ground! π
I totally agree that the backside is going to be where all the accumulation is going to come from I was just hoping that the cold air was going to catch the front side and get a quick 1 to 2 inch big fat wet flaky snow. I love being outside for that!
I could be wrong but was the low forecast to weaken as it move towards the east and give way to another low that was going to form off the east coast
GO STEELERS..!!!
Oh wait, they be be rude to CB…hehehehe
I guess alcohol and blogging does not mix.
Actually, I do quit well with that mixture… π
The local station here in central ohio and my thermometer says 36 and the national weather service says 42. It’s much colder here. the temps have rapidly declined. I think it might get colder quicker than some think
Thank you, Chris! I love reading the different opinions, but, earlier today, we were out shopping, and I swear, I think that people have forgotten how to be civil. Kids throwing movies at us in a bin while we were trying to look through them, and knocking over diaplays. Lets just all get along and do a big snow dance, ok? π
Connor…from SFA?
Yep, And just walking trails down the middle of the street to Pic Pack and the Downtowner,
It’ll be tomorrow night and Mon. morning when the snow kicks in.
Yay Chris! You are the man! π
chris i wanted to commend you on keeping us up to date on things. right now its raining pretty hard in nicholasville i could feel the air getting cooler. now my question to you is have you ever heard of an autistic child being affect by barometric pressure change if not let me introduce you to my daughter. she seems to sense storms when they are as far out as oklahoma anyways thanks for work you have put in this far on the storm. i read it everyday.
lol! π
Snow map form NWS JKL
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/images/jkl/StormTotal/StormTotalSnow.png
Well said! I’m always game for a snow dance. :)Can I suggest the…Up to Our Knees Stomp? lol
You knippin some Old Crow tonight Vinny?
35 degrees at my house in Elkhorn City. It was 40 in Pikeville when I left there a bit ago.
JKL bumped Pulaski Co. up to 4″?????? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hard to believe that.
Two ryans in the same location. I’m from Pike too….haha
Name = Changed
Bottom line……are we still on the same track to receive 4+ inches of snow?
You sipping some Old Crow tonight Vinny?
Just off the press at wave 3 blog. Just a quick update based on nowcasting from radar trends before the 00Z data comes in. It appears that the dry slot is working in… and will put an end to the precipitation by midnight or just after. Nothing more than a few flurries or light freezing drizzle there at this point.
Hopefully, this will allow the roads to dry a bit, before temperatures crash overnight. That would be good news… with less black ice forming. I still think this could be a big problem. Tonightβs concern will be residual water freezing before the roads are able to dryβ¦ creating black ice and a possible FLASH FREEZE. This will depend on what time the precipitation ends and what time the colder temperatures arriveβ¦ it will be a race to get the rain to endβ¦ pavement driedβ¦ and then colder temperatures.
Snow showers will still occur on Sunday with some minor snow accumulations in the heaviers snow showers in the afternoon with northerly winds increasing.
In heavier snow bands weβll likely see visibilities down to a half mile or lessβ¦
Winds will increase into Sunday night & early Mondayβ¦ as high as 20 to 30 mph with higher gustsβ¦
This will push wind chills below 0 early Monday morning⦠and with even colder temperatures Tuesday morning (less wind) but possibly still below 0.
It appears that they are starting to downplay the storm.
This would be about the time I usually update my snow map, but I’m confident with what I already have forecasted… Looks like this will be really fun to watch play out for the next few days π
Do not fall for it Mike, it is a trap. LOL
GIRL FIGHT!!!! π π π
That is one of NWS local computer models… not what the actual meteorologist are predicting for the area.
I saw “Downtowner” and I knew it was you
LOL..I know better…1″ or less for Pulaski Co. All METS agree on that for sure!
Most of the people that comment here are morons and annoying, but my namesake is #1.
Got me some Red Stag tonight…
Pretty good stuff, (for adults that is, you kids leave that crap alone)…
Yes indeed.
Hey CB. Can we ban the comment above? LOL!!!
Latest GFS snowfall map staying pretty dang consistent…
http://wxcaster4.com/gfs/CONUS2_GFS0P5_SFC_ACCUM-SNOW_120HR.gif
According to the 00Z NAM, we are still on track. Tomorrow could surprise some of you all. I think we’re looking at 12+ hours of snow. Yes it might come down light at times but there will be the heavier squalls that can sometimes put down a half an inch of snow in 30. Let not hit the panic button till tomorrow afternoon.
Any thoughts on the second winter storm?
looks like mother nature is showing us who’s boss!! π why is there so many different opinions on this storm. looks like most, if not all weather oulets could come to some kind of consensus on this thing. we shall see who was right, and who missed it by a mile. good luck to all whom have posted their take on whether your a met or not!! π
hahahahahahahah…….Good Stuff Vinny!!! π I’m workin some 12oz tonight!
Nearing the 35Β° degree mark. about .08 of rain has fallen here in Washington Court House, Ohio. The Weather Channel is still a few degrees behind my thermometer and the local weather stations.
Anyone else getting a rain/sleet mix right now?
for all you naysayers jumping off the bridge…
Check out this simulated radar…
http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/WRFRAD_12z/jloop.html
See those wrap around radar returns..???
That’s ALL snow folks! Calm down and lets get ready for some fun..!
Hey Chief, Let’s wait it out. Its going to come.
Yes, John Belski’s protege looks to be dismissing the entire event. ‘ minor accumulations ‘. Chris says 3″. Battle of the Blogs. My $$ is on Chris.
39 here in rockcastle, finally broken through the 40 degree mark.
If you look at the back end of this band of rain coming through, Blue is starting to show up. It would have to snow pretty hard to create any accumulation right now, but it certainly wouldn’t be hard if things decided to freeze up quickly.
Does anyone know if the witer storm warnings out are just for the higher elevations or are the valleys going to get in on this?
http://www.highcountrywebcams.com/webcameras_obergatlinburg.htm
This makes me jealous
If you’re county is included in the Winter Storm Warning, it is for the lower and higher elevations. I think higher elevations were thought to accumulate 6″-12″ and the lower were thought to accumulate 3″-6″. Now the reason why the lower is included with it as well is because, of the higher end of you’re forecast.
No it is not. That is the actual snow forecast map from JKL. That is not a model run.
I just went and looked at national radar. Can you say the quintessential comma of all time?
Its actually been upped to 4-6 inches now for the valley’s in the Winter Storm Warnings.
Tom… I don’t know where you’re at but this is the scene about an hour from my front door in Lexington!!! Get on board the man-made snow train!!!!
http://media2.wcpo.com/photo/MAP/186675843_Position1.JPG
A very good-looking comma indeed! π
and this…
http://perfectnorth.com/snow_cams.php?view=1
Gotta love it!
Yeah that is great. I wish I had the equipment to make snow, I would have them running every time it hit 32 degrees.
why is everyone fighting, we have someone named sarah hating on rolo, and another person saying boo cats.. who are these people? and why the hell are you on this weather blog. Haha π
Well done Vinny
Guys we are getting our snows from the wrap around moisture. Not the front.
last time i checked its a free country and u don’t own this website.. and no one is hating on anyone..
Didn’t catch that. Thanks for letting me know that though.
As Mick said from Altimont ” Whose fighting and for what reason?”
haha i wanted you to reply to this. You should change your name to debbie downer!
It still looks like the low is further south than expected.
I know right.. havent been on here all day.. i get on and everyone is getting upset at each other..over nothing lol
That comma is the best looking of all time. Wait till the snows wrap around the southern and southwestern part of it.
of course you wanted me to reply.. because ur a trouble maker, people like you have nothing better to do, with that said, i refuse to fight u, ill not be giving u anymore of my time, not worth it.. btw.. get a job
I love how the local news in Lexington just now did NOT mention a WINTER WEATHER ADVIORY OR WINTER STORM WARNING! Wow way to inform and protect the public. Glad I have the blog!
Lincoln – Sarah…
You two hug… Go ahead hug… Go on…
There… Now don’t you both feel better..??? Of course you do… I knew you would…
Excellent, now lets enjoy the snow that is coming…
chris will have to get out the ban gun..there’s some trying to turn a great weather blog into tastless trash like topix..let’em have it chris! π
How will a more southerly track affect snow totals? I’m thinking they would rise, is that correct?
But, she said, and I quote, “Snow will come down heavy at times tomorrow night”…
lol
Makes no sense…
Licolin is ticked off that i turned him down for a date ; )
How do you read the color coded numbers on this map?
Did any snow accumulations change with the 0z runs with the gfs & nam.
I’m not going to go back and read all the comments, but Lincoln, you are still my buddy! I miss the old blog! lol π
Is your name LIBBY?? π
get a job? do i know you?! and im not even joking lol Thats just weird that you said A. Get a job and B. i was joking with a friend name sarah about going on a date tonight lol
hey now… topix is quite entertaining! lol
Another GIRL FIGHT!!!! π π π
CB just tweeted, “Looks like a good shot of snow first thing Sunday morning along and east of I-75 as cold air catches back edge of main rain shield.”
Thank you vinny, she may have turned me down.. but because of you i at least got a hug π bahahah
No more girl fights?? Dang! π π π
Here is the link to the new wave 3 video blog.Basically he is correct forget the model and just watch the radar.http://blogs.wave3.com/weather_blog/2010/12/saturday-1211-video-blog-update.html#comments
Not really. Eastern and Southeastern KY is going to get drilled!
Chris’s tweet say the cold will catch the rain so I’m not worried about it!!
I am one mile east of I75 π Wait, that is probably too close to make difference….
I miss it too ‘chelle! By the way, I’ve been making snowflakes again! I showed that site to my great niece and she loves it! You put that link up here on the blog how many years ago? Anyway, Merry Christmas!!
LOL…Well im in Middlesboro. So im good.
I have to agree Snowlover!
On a lighter note….what is B.M callin for? And no that isnt bowel movement…tho some would disagree! π
Glad you still enjoy it patty, i think it has become a tradtion with a lot of us lol and elf yourself lol.
Im glad I dont live around Louisville. π
Good to see we are still on tap for the snow, but the amount of rain has certainly seemed to have underperformed. Not even a quarter of an inch at bluegrass apt as of yet. I was expecting to hear heavy rain.
I’ve only done one elf yourself this year. I’ve misplaced my camera with pictures I need to download!
The wind is gettin up here in Versailles. What’s it doing your way?
Has any reports came out of K.City about how much snowfall has fallen? I know its a long shot but I am extremely curious.
I like using this radar site. Someone posted it a couple of years ago here on the blog and I’ve used it since.
http://www.duats.com/graphics/reg06loop.html
hahah hey now. I am most certainly not a girl! LOL
Same wind and rain, but i’m just down the road from you lol. Im in Nicholasville. :0)
This is from The National Weather Service in Jackson for Middlesboro. This is for Sunday night ONLY…
“Sunday Night: Snow showers. Low around 17. Wind chill values as low as 5. Blustery, with a west northwest wind between 15 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.”
I got a feeling that this is the type of storm that you could have 1 inch on one side of Jefferson county and maybe up to 4 inches on the opposite of the county.
i found this to be very informative….http://www.wkyt.com/blogs/easternkentuckyweather/Winter_Storm_Warning__Winter_Weather_Advisory_111728339.html
WOW that one has me in 4-7 i like that much better, thanks Snowprincess! π
I’m loving that guys forecast for my area!!!!
That wrap around moisture is getting farther south and growing. Looking good on the radar!
Blog gone wild! Wow…getting frisky tonight. The Blog police will be out to cuff em and stuff em for sure π
Two things:
1. Now that’s ironic, since first time I ever recall a local met being more aggressive than CB with totals this “early”.
2. Seems if those totals are expected, how is it a WWA for those pink areas? Fits storm category.
This is what is going on at Kansas City Airport
9:53 pm CST Heavy Snow Blowing Snow and Breezy.
14Β°F
I think alot more counties need to be in the Winter Storm Warning. I thought a Advisory was for like 1-3 inches. Anything over that is a Winter Storm. I think Jackson has been really really stingy on this storm like always.
Do we still have a chat room anywhere..?
I miss those good ole’ days…
I will have a full udpate and last call map out in a few hours. Give me a break… I had to end up working tonight because of the weather. π
check this you tube video out from MN. that was filmed today.. very cool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0OzLOyj6iQ
Its 38 and Rain in Middlesboro now. Temp keeps dropping.
Where are yoiu all seeing these radars showing wrap around?
Good point, Jackson has my area 3-5, and the actual forecast at 4.5, that is Winter Storm warning criteria due to the High winds and arctic air
He might be Tom Wills protege.
Winds have picked up here in Georgetown. I say bring on the snow!!!
This is the one I use. Just zoom out and push play.
http://www.wkyt.com/weather
Thanks
sleet falling in the Cawood area of Harlan Co.
Thanks! The wrap around looks impressive. I think this storm may be an overachiever.
Be interesting to see your totals. WKYT has posted higher map totals than yours. Not seen that before, so curious if your thoughts are the same.
BTW, if this system does pan out, seems to not bode well for many of us folks later the coming week. Models that validate with results are to be taken seriously. π Ice aint’ nice.
Looks like once the wrap around gets here it might be here for a while. Very slow moving!
Bubba G.
That was actually WYMT… But I hope they’re correct! lol
Once the wrap around hits the mountains it will blow up even more with the upslope.
Vinny, I double checked at it shows WKYT in the link and the actual page….
Am I missing something?
They are both owned by same company and basically share a web page, but that forecast is from Jim at WYMT, not TG at WKYT…
I get it. The met is also making fun of it being an advisory, since the NWS posted the weather status (not the met). He kind of pokes fun at the pink areas being advisory areas. He agrees with our perspective.
Now it just has to pan out…..
Boyle County: .24″ of rain Saturday. Currently 42*.
Here is another interactive radar
http://www.struckbylightning.org/alert.htm
Temps plummeting fast across state
Ooooh…. I knew that was not TG, but figured maybe another met was doing some bloggin’ for the station.
Now it makes sense. All things considered, that met is a maverick for this event- even more than CB! :O
I have a major concern as I watching the radar returns from Mo. The snow evaporate nearly south of Jefferson City. If that trend continues only the nor. counties of ky have a chance receiving backside snow from the initial low front.
Yea, he is usually more conservative then local mets, and always has higher temps..
Interesting to say the least…
The radar im watching shows snow past the Missouri and Arkansas line. Some radars dont show everything.
Chat Room for anyone that wants to use it
http://www.chatzy.com/517602421959
Check this site out. Shows a 24 hr loop. Watch the Low go southeast and the wrap around going farther south and growing.
At the Brekinridge county mesonet site, in the past 30 minutes, temps have fallen almost 6 degrees!!!!!
37 and rain in Middlesboro now. Keeps dropping fast here for some reason. Were not even close to the front passing through yet.
Please give me a link. I am using the present radar here is my linkhttp://www.wave3.com/link/304219/interactive-radar?redirected=true
http://www.wkyt.com/weather
Probably the best radar in the area. Just zoom out
37 at my house and 39 downtown Middlesboro. Temps are falling quick. We are not even near the front yet.
Last!
Heh, it was worth a shot…
I remember you being from there. I wonder where Bernie went?
Thanks, Now the only question I have, is the low moving west to east or Northeast.
Light Snow and 34* being reported in Crossville,Tn on the Plateau
Temps are now 29 at my house. Im excited about this storm, its raining pretty hard here at my house right now!! Im ready for the long hall.. Bring on the snow!
Todd,
Actually, Todd, if I recall that storm correctly, that moisture came in from the southeast and banked westward and then tilted north and hung out for several hours. But then, I might’ve been looking at the wrong storm.
4-7 inches sounds delicious right now, perhaps this will be an over achiever!!!!
38 here, getting closer
bring on the snow
ahhhhh
Lincoln & Sarah posted together…
I just knew you kids would be ok…
Very very heavy sleet here right now!
he’s in love with me : )
Its snowing in Northern Middlesboro.
Can’t comment on new post. π
