Good Tuesday, everyone. It’s here. Our first true surge of fall weather is in the Bluegrass state and it’s settling in for the long haul. This brings below normal temps and, for that reason, it’s a full-blown Pot of Chili ALERT for the rest of the week!
The Pot of Chili ALERT is for that first blast of fall air that typically gets most folks in the mood to make that first pot of chili of the season.
This blast of air takes us from well above normal to a little below normal without any kind of normal buffering the two. Temps out there today will range from the upper 60s to middle 70s on a northeasterly wind adding to that fall feel.
Low pressure is slowly spinning across the southern Appalachian Mountains, bringing a shower or two out there today, with many staying dry. This system cranks a little more on Wednesday and throws showers a bit farther to the west through part of Thursday.

With overcast skies and some rain, temps may not get out of the 60s for much of the state on Wednesday…
Upper 60s to mid 70s will be noted Thursday into Friday, setting the stage for a chilly few mornings. A few upper 40s may show up Friday, but it’s Saturday and Sunday mornings that may see low and mid 40s for some.

A weak system may throw a few showers in here early next week, ahead of another big fall system arriving to end the month and begin October…
