Good Thursday, everybody. Our awesome temperate pattern continues as October weather arrives early. As a matter of fact, the weather into the upcoming weekend looks to be about as nice as you’re ever going to find it around here in early fall.
As usual, we start with what’s going on out there in the precious present.
Clouds and lingering showers are with us to start the day with slow clearing showing up this afternoon and evening. Winds continue to come at us from the northeast, bringing another much cooler than normal day. Some areas will make it 3 days in a row with highs in the 60s while others reach the low 70s.
Friday looks fantastic with temps in the upper 40s to mid 50s to begin the day. By the afternoon, a mix of sun and clouds will be noted, leaving us with upper 60s to low 70s for much of central and eastern Kentucky with low to mid 70s in the west…
While we are enjoying a great start to the weekend, a full-blown nor’easter will be spinning along the east coast…
That puts us in a strong northeast wind flow, keeping temps VERY pleasant into the weekend. Check out those high temps mainly reaching the low 70s…
That bit of milder air in the west may be accompanied by a shower or two filtering in from the west. It’s running into much drier air, so we shall see how far east that stuff may get.
In terms of temps, lows will likely reach the 40s for areas with clear skies this weekend. Some low and mid 40s can’t be ruled out…
Temps stay pleasant into early next week before a quick southwest wind kicks in ahead of the next big time fall cold front. This looks to arrive on Wednesday and may very well bring some pretty good showers and storms ahead of it…
That has the potential to bring a line of strong storms to end September with chillier winds coming in behind it to begin October.
Let’s go ahead and circle the October 7-14th window for the first frost. I’m seeing the signal for a pretty big chill coming during that time.

Dottie, Not Cancer Free just yet. I have the main surgery on the 30th of September to remove the almost dead tumour. I want to thank everyone for all their thoughts and Prayers.
Sure has been Gloomy these last couple of days. Like Jeff said we need Sunshine. The low level moisture is being trapped under a very strong high pressure aloft. Hopefully, we will see sunny skies tomorrow. I hoping we will have some rainy days late next week to end this drought.
