Good Wednesday to one and all. It’s a windy and wet day across the Commonwealth as showers and storms roll through. This is ahead of a push of true November air showing up on the scene for the upcoming weekend.
Let us begin with today and roll forward.
Widespread showers and storms slowly spread from west to east, bringing heavy rains along the way. Some areas will pick up 1″-2″ of rain from this system and there’s the small chance for a few strong storms.
I doubt we see any severe weather, but here’s what the Storm Prediction Center is showing for the day…

Even without thunderstorms, winds today may gust to 35mph or so as the cold front sweeps eastward. Temps are mainly in the 60s today.
Thursday is another nice day with highs 65-70 in most areas.
This mild air finally gets pushed out of there with a cold front dropping in from the northwest later Friday. This brings the chance for a few showers with one or two trying to hang around into Saturday…
Temps Friday afternoon hit the upper 50s to low 60s early then really crash behind the boundary. Watch those numbers drop toward the freezing mark for some areas behind the front Saturday morning. This animation starts Friday afternoon and goes through Saturday morning…
Highs on Saturday are mainly in the 50-55 degree range with a gusty northwest wind making it feel even colder. This sets the stage for cold air to send our temps into the 20s by Sunday morning. You can see that drop on this animation from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning…
Highs are mainly in the 50s again Sunday into early next week as our pattern turns rather seasonable for a change.
I’ve talked a lot about how the EURO Weeklies have been showing more of a winter look later this month into the first half of December, but it’s not alone. The GFS Extended has a similar look…
Obviously, the EURO Weeklies go farther out in time, but have that look deeper into December…
This isn’t an exceptionally cold setup, but that would be cold enough for some early season winter weather.
I leave you with your Tuesday storm tracking toys…
