Good Tuesday afternoon, gang. I promised to drop by for a quickie update on the change toward winter this weekend into next week.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
– The arctic front arrives late Friday into Friday night. Heavy rain and gusty winds ahead of the front will combine to make Friday a nasty day.
– The cold sinks in by Saturday morning with upper 20s and low 30s and the potential for a few snow flurries.
– Highs by Saturday will only reach the mid and upper 30s, but gusty winds will make it feel even colder. Sunday will start in the teens and stay in the upper 20s and low 30s for highs.
– A few flurries are possible over the weekend and you can see that on the GFS…
Next week continues to look interesting as cold air stays in place and a couple of systems working in from the southwest. There’s a lot of uncertainty on how all this will play out, but the GFS is bringing snow and a mix our way by late Monday into Tuesday…
The Canadian Model has a similar look during that time. A bigger storm system is very possible over the Thanksgiving holiday period. There’s a lot of winter showing up over the next several weeks.
Have a great evening and take care.
Looking forward to your winter forecast Tomorrow Chris, I’ll bet their is some fun and games in your Chris-tel ball 😉
If we capitalize on the downward trend of the NAO/AO into negative territory next week (albeit it will be short-lived), the realization of wintry precip for TN/KY isn’t unreasonable/out of the question. I really hope this forecast holds. Flakes in November start to enhance the Christmas/seasonal vibe. 😉
one best things every year is PLANES,TRAins and Automobiles sig on the weather blog. cant wait and I think this year COUSIN EDDIE from XMAS Vacation should begin his reign. one of the greatest characters in anything made, movie or sitcom.
