Good Thursday to one and all. We continue to track arctic air into the country and this blast will arrive in the bluegrass state over the weekend. This has been covered extensively over the past several days and things appear to be on track. So… let’s focus a little bit on Thanksgiving week.

The one thing for sure about next week is the amount of cold. Temps will average MUCH colder than normal and could be one of the colder late November periods in a long, long time. What about the potential for wintry weather? That’s the question for us to really tackle in the coming days as we have a potent storm system taking shape.

The models waffle a bit here or there on timing and track issues and that will continue into the weekend. For now… I like what the European Model is doing…

Euro

The evolution of that storm system will be determined by how much of a marriage we get between the deep trough digging in and the energy creeping along the south…

That’s asking a lot of the models to determine this far out, but that’s the world we live in.

The same run of the European Model tries to put down a touch of snow around here from Tuesday into early Wednesday…

Euro 2A quick check of the calendar shows that it is still November. Tracking so much cold and winter systems doesn’t happen too often around here at this point in the season. 😉

I will update things later. Have a great day and take care.
