Good Sunday, evening. I don’t have any changes to what I put out earlier today… that may come with the overnight update. It’s a good time to check in with the Weather Prediction Center to see what kind of “risk” they are assigning this system.
The WPC issues risk outlooks similar to what the Storm Prediction Center does with severe storms. Here’s what they have out on the potential of 4″ or more of snow…
That’s impressive to see for any storm… especially before Thanksgiving.
I’m still seeing the American models with a few feedback issues they have yet to resolve. That may not come until Tomorrow.
See you for the overnight update. Take care.
Would like to see gray ky pic up a few inches of snow out of this.
think Bailey thoughts are right along the way it happens, see a Heavy band snow though setting up WEDMORN for SE/E KY
Annnnddd….as usual, E. KY. gets the “hit”….(Good Luck Y’all, if it indeed HAPPENS??!) For once, just ONCE….I’d like to see us just SOUTH of L-Ville get banged w/ some snow…NOT the usual Ice Storm, as always…NOT the usual “dusting”….NOT the occasional “ankle biter”…??!!
Sorry I am bitter…it happens…
I hear ya, Debbie, and share your disappointment. However, this is a very early season snow event and bodes well for the rest of us this winter. The long-range is seeing more cold and more precip chances. Gotta think everyone in our region sees some serious white before spring.
I am bitter about it as well Debbie. I’m in the ville and travel to Nelson County and we haven’t had a good snow for a while. I was really hoping to try out my 4 wheel drive in the snow.
Meh..these bones are getting to old for the cold and snow…Had to work outside today and it was no fun…Beginning to have a different taste for winter…
accuweather snowfall map

As with anything accucrack comes up with take it with a grain of salt
I don’t know, accucracks map has central ky in the 0 inch zone which would be consistent with the past 15 years of false hope and promise.
Can anyone top Richmond? — Never more than 8 inches total in any of the last 9 years. Never more than 5 at any one time. (Can’t go back further than that… Haven’t lived here that long.
Been that way for Richmond since about 1998, which was the last big one. We have had a few 5″ or slightly higher that had dry snow drifts that seemed bigger due to drifts and wind.
I spin it now that little to no snow means no digging out of my long and up hill driveway 🙂 This coming system could give us a decent snow, but might favor the E NE more. Looks like a shot based on models that at least have cold air to work with. Last winter, not so much to work with.
Not getting excited . Gonna have to see something more concrete before I get hopeful. History makes me that way. Have a good night all. Thanks Chris.
By the way, the current Weather Prediction Center (WPC) is what use to be called the…..the……
…….the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center (HPC).
Dang, that’s a mouthful. Glad they changed the name 😉 .
