Good Tuesday to one and all. I wanted to drop by for a quick update on the increasing prospects for a period of snow across much of the state for Thursday night into Friday morning. This is something we have been talking about for a while and things appear to be coming together for just that.

A STRONG cold front blows through here during this time and much of the precipitation looks to be along and just behind the front. The models are finally catching on to just how cold this air behind the front really is and show it catching up to the precip shield. That means a rapid change to a period of snow from west to east.

The NAM is on board…

Don’t get too caught up on the snow map as that will change from run to run. What it is saying, though, is the cold air is going to catch the rain and change it to snow. It may actually snow hard for a few hours in some areas. The ground is warm so accumulation would be hard to come by. That said… if it snows hard enough… it could coat some elevated surfaces as temps will likely plunge to below freezing by Friday morning.

I will have another update later tonight so check back then. Have a great evening and take care.
