Good evening again… I wanted to drop by for another update as the threat for severe weather is on the increase across Kentucky tonight. A TORNADO WATCH is now out for much of western Ky until 5am eastern time. Here is a look at the watch with the current warnings…

WW0749 Warnings

This is a very impressive line that has dropped several tornadoes already to our west. In addition to the twister threat… damaging winds will be possible as the line surges eastward overnight. At this point… I have been pouring over the latest data and I can now see this line holding a lot of it’s strength into central and eastern Kentucky late tonight.

Yes… those are blizzard warnings for some areas.

The forecast around here remains the same for the rest of the week…

– A line of showers and embedded thunderstorms working from west to east later tonight and early Tuesday.

– Colder air for Wednesday with late showers.

– A warm and windy start to Thanksgiving as heavy rain and possible thunderstorms increase.

– Much colder air moves in Thursday night likely catching the back edge of the precip turning it over to a period of snow into early Friday.

I will have severe weather updates as needed so check back and check for my twitter updates… @Kentuckyweather

Take care.
