Good Thursday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory is now out for far northern Kentucky for Friday night into Saturday. This is for our next messy system rolling in for the weekend. Here’s a look at the counties included in the advisory…
I would imagine that gets extended a bit farther south in time. Precipitation moving in here Friday evening will be in the form of rain, a touch of sleet and snow. Temps will drop a bit and that allows for snow to take over for several areas into early Saturday morning.
The GFS Model continues to put some front end snow on the ground…
The European Model is just a tad farther south…
Either way… most areas go over to light rain on Saturday as temps go a little above freezing. I have my doubts that far northern parts of the state will crack 32 degrees. Light snow and snow showers will take over across the entire area Saturday night into Sunday as the low goes by to our northeast.
A full update comes tonight. Take care.
these storms seem to be hitting all around the edges of central kentucky. eventually we’ll be in the sweet spot!
Happy Birthday to me….happy birthday to me….happy birthday to me happy birthday to me….was hoping for snow on my birthday. Cold and snowy ground was nice though. Here in Lou we just might get more snow on snow. At least where the shady spots are.
Might not get it this weekend, but I can see Xmas into New Years being quite wintery. Especially if the southeast ridge stays in place and keeps the storms from going out to sea or up the east coast.
Wow spell check even changes your name. Bjenks above not buenos…lol
FYI, Buenos means good in spanish.
Ha…may we get a buenos snow this or next weekend.
“The European Model continues to put some front end snow on the ground…”
“The European Model is just a tad farther south…”
Model impostor! So there’s two different European models. Which is the real Euro?
I think Chris means further south than the winter advisory. I was confused myself I had to look at it and think about it for a few moments.
He meant the gfs and fixed it btw
I hope the storm on the 23rd works out for us. That could be a monster.
A monster cold rain storm. For that one, the temperature will be 32.0000000001 degrees F.
