Good Monday evening gang. A true soaker of a rain event is on tap for the entire state of Kentucky as we go through the next few days. I had promised to make a rainfall map… but there really is no need to break it all down for you as totals will range from .75″ to 1.5″ across all areas.
Those numbers are higher than some rain totals from the past month to 6 weeks. This has been one of the driest falls on record around here and the upcoming rains will REALLY help things out.
Here is a breakdown of how things will progress…
– Light to moderate rain will streak northeast across southern and eastern Kentucky this evening.
– The heavy rains will arrive from south to north late tonight into Tuesday as low pressure passes right over our heads. Some thunder possible?
– This low will also mean winds will become gusty at times.
– Temps will spike up into the 50s east and near 50 west. As the low goes by Tuesday night… a rapid drop in temps will take place.
Here are your radars to track the current rains…
There ya have it… a soaking rain on the menu for the first time in a long while.
Take care.
