Good Friday evening. You don’t hear me say a lot of good things about the GFS too often, but it has actually showing some consistency with the system for the end of next week. That doesn’t mean it’s right, but every model is jumping around right now. That happens when there is so much going on with the overall pattern.
We know about the systems coming late weekend into early next week. The issue is with the one that dives in on Thursday. The GFS has a negatively tilted trough setting up…
With that negative tilt… it continues to go toward a stronger system developing…
That’s a busy look and one that is likely too strung out. Keep an eye on this time period for the possibility of a bigger system trying to develop.
Take care.
That’s nice but the GFS will show a completely different scenario on its next run, another option the next run, etc., etc.
The 50 degrees and sun in my neighborhood were very nice today, but c’mon Mother Nature, it’s snow time!!
Seth lords love Nickleback…. OMG….Truly the darkest of evil then.
If they ally with the Torch we are truly ‘shrewed’ for snow (spelt that way on purpose, as not to directly offend people of the good side of the Force).
What were the temps for today? We hit a near balmy 53 degrees.
Spelt Nickleback this way on purpose. One can not say such a curse, or even type it correctly too many times. Spine tingling it is.
Trying to figure out the big temperature spread for next week, Chris has 20s for highs all week, while most others are showing upper 30s to mid 40s, I guess some models are different than others??
I think Chris usually forecasts a few degrees too cool whereas others might forecast a few degrees too warm. I usually average his forecast against that of the NWS and weather channel and it usually is very close to what I actually end up with.
If it isn’t going to snow, than we might as well have weather like today. 50, sunny, light winds, and an overall pleasant day. I know Chris said “we might make a run at 50 on Saturday” but Lexington hit 50 today–wondering if 55 or more isn’t possible?
It hit 51 in Frankfort today, I think 55 is very possible!
I’m all in—60 sounds even better! Time to get out and have some fun before the UK/UL game.
If the forecast to day was for a 47 high and we hit 53, perhaps that warmer margin will carry to tomorrow. If so, we should hit 60.
CBs temps though are a blanket area average, so there will usually be some difference anyway.
Can we please have at least one major snowstorm statewide before this winters over? I am so ready to have an old school smack down. Maybe this time in will go our way. Thanks CB for the update…I guess blowtorch is loving today’s weather.
Ben I have watch that guy from wave 3 video blog he’s not sounding like we are going to get no big cold or snow anytime soon I think I’m going to just give up on the snow we are living in the wrong state for that…
Please excuse the typos…(:
Winter only started last weekend so we have plenty of time to get snow.I know we have had cool or cold so much for the last couple of months it feels as if winter should be ending soon but its just begun.Personally I hope the snow holds off a bit longer.I still have a few things I need to get done before we have a big,big snow.I live on a very steep hill and when it snows I could be stuck up here for a long time.
In other news….the GFS has completely dropped the Thursday storm. That model is useless past 3-4 days.
