Good Sunday everyone. The above normal temps are back in a big way across the state as readings will once again near record setting territory again today. That has been a common theme for the past few months as our baked ground continues to feed warmer temps back at us.

Louisville hit another record Saturday and should do it again today with Lexington having a shot to get in on the act as well. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Highs today will range from the low and mid 80s east to upper 80s to around 90 for the central and western parts of the state. You can see today’s high temps through the eyes of the Kentucky Mesonet…

Monday will see more of the same… but with a few more clouds moving in by the end of the day. This is in response to a front dropping in here from the north and west. This does not have much moisture to work with (THIS IS NOT A RECORDING ) so any shower threat into the middle of the week would be scattered at best. The GFS shows just how scattered we are talking about…

Tuesday Evening

Wednesday Evening

Maybe we should organize a mass rain dance? At this point… I have no doubts we would get a nice little turnout for it.

Cooler temps will settle in for the middle and end of the week as readings return closer to normal for a few days. There is likely to be one more good surge of warmth later next weekend into early the following week before we get in on this full pattern change I have alluded to. The long range GFS and it’s Ensembles have started sniffing around on this too…

GFS October 25th

That is only two weeks away… and we all know just how reliable models are this far out!

Have a great Sunday and take care.
