Good Saturday everyone and welcome to a late arriving fall. Summer decided it wanted to take over the first few days of Autumn, but it is now going away and will give way to some cooler and wetter weather. How good was it to see some rain Friday evening and last night? While it wasn’t a lot… anything helps and no one will complain about it.

We have more rains on the way early next week… but in the short term, the weekend is looking pretty darn good. Highs today will be in the 70s with a partly sunny sky. Clouds will increase sunday ahead of our wet weather maker for early in the new week. There will likely be a scattered shower around and temps will be cooler than what we have out there today.  It is once we get into Sunday night into Monday and Tuesday that low pressure will likely bring much of the region some good rains. The best chance of seeing some nice soaking rains will be across the eastern half of the state. Here is what the GFS is showing early in the week…

Rains will keep temps way down Monday and Tuesday as highs only reach the 60s. This will be some honest to goodness fall weather across much of the region. Awwww… I can smell the pot of Chili now.

The maps for the end of next week into the weekend continue to feature a tropical system coming out of the Caribbean into the Gulf with a cold shot moving into the east. We just have to iron out the details of how it all plays out as we get closer.

I will have updates as needed this weekend so check back. Have a great Saturday and take care.
