Good Monday evening, gang. As expected, snow chances are taking center stage again as winter takes control of the pattern. We have some light snow out there tonight in the north, but it’s the system tomorrow night that can cause some travel issues.
This will be a fast-moving round of snow that streaks from west to east Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. The Hi-Res Simulated Radar shows this well…
Accumulations of around 1″ will be possible for many areas. Locally higher amounts will be likely across parts of southeastern Ky. Some delays and cancellations will be possible Wednesday morning.
Another light snow maker is possible later Friday into early Saturday. That is likely to be followed by the bigger storm we’ve been talking about for early March. That arrives late this weekend into early next week and has a lot of wintry potential.
The pattern this week is a very cold one with the Polar Vortex settling toward the Great Lakes…
A similar pattern tries develop again by the middle of March…
This truly is the winter that will not end.
Enjoy the evening and take care.
Noooooooo! Bring Spring back!
Not that Chris can actually do that…..
I bet many southern ky folks are saying “this is the winter that hasn’t even begun.” Snow-wise.
LOL….I live in Nelson Co. and we’ve had a couple of “toe-biter’s”, but I am READY for a BIGGIN’!!! 🙂 We always hang around on the fence…kinda like Bubba…
Snow never seems to mean snow in Somerset. Lol, for a bad winter, we have sure missed the snow….maybe this time or first of March????? Thanks Chris for all you do
we have had abt 30 1/2 inches of snow this winter and maybe more to come! I LOVE snow but I don’t want to lose our spring break due to missing so many snow days! We have missed 13 days so far and that is ALOT for a city school!
Thanks for the update Chris. As Pat said, we haven’t seen much snow in Somerset so we are pretty snow starved down here. Wouldn’t mind seeing a good one here even at this late date. Have a great evening everyone.
I came across a site that caught my attention.. It’s called northeastusweather.com. Never heard of this site before and don’t even know how accurate they’ve been before, I just took notice because they are talking about a huge storm affecting millions next week. As usual, I heard about the possibility if snow next week from Chris while the other “usual” forecasters are calling for rain and snow.
