Good Sunday everyone and welcome to what should be the last of the torrid temp days for a little while. Saturday saw temps make it back into the 90s again before some big time storms rumbled through the region. Today should feature “more of the same” and I wish I had a dollar for every time I have uttered that phrase. ![]()
Regardless… today will be just that… more of the same. Highs will hit the 90s again with a chance for some thunderstorms to come calling. Any storm can be on the strong side with torrential rains.
You can track the storms here..

Here is the latest severe weather outlook for today from the Storm Prediction Center…
– Cooler and less humid air will be with us for most of the week! This does not mean it is going to be cool… just that the really oppressive stuff of late will cut us a break.
– The potential for showers and thunderstorms will be with us on any given day next week with the best chance for the middle and end of the week.
– A lot of what happens next week around here in terms of storms will be directly related to what happens with the remnants of Tropical Depression 5. This will try to drift back over the extreme northern Gulf of Mexico waters in the next few days. What happens to it from that point? The models have been all over the place… but it could easily throw tropical moisture our way and that is something we will watch for.
Ok… thats all you get for now. Have a great Sunday and take care.

Well i got about 5 drops of rain last night a little breeze and little lightening
The NwS is driving me crazy, issued a severe t storm warning for woodford county yesterday, and i was drivin through the whole county, very little lightning, and barely enough rain to get the street wet, hasnt rained good here in over 3 weeks, i know some places are having good rains, but the central part of woodford county is in severe drought, trees wilted, dormant grass,we just cant catch a break here
Chris, we had quite a storm last night. We had torrential rain that came down in sheets, lots of wind, and near constant lightning. We got probably a goodhalf inch of rain, as it was standing to the top of drainage ditches on highway 27.
More of the same for today? I hope it doesn’t get any worse that it was last night. But I AM looking forward to a little relief!
Havea GREAT Sunday, everyone. Thanks, Chris, for all you do.
Thank Chris! I’m looking forward to some milder temps. 🙂
A very quick 0.6″ just fell here in NW lexington. Lots of erosion behind my house in the recently “cleaned up” green space behind my house. Developer doesn’t understand water’s strength I guess.
BIG thunderstorm in Winchester. The wind is much worse than ahything we saw last night. No question that this is severe.
A Dandy of a storm just passed overhead again. Lots of Thunder and Lightning Wind and Rain 3/4 inch not bad in an hour. Storm is moving SE Be alert because it seemed to be getting stronger as it went over. Sunny now
