Good Saturday everyone. My time is short for this update as I hope to get a more in depth discussion on for you later today. We are to the point that the heat needs to just throw up the white flag and surrender. The intense heat is likely to do just that here in a few days, but it won’t go without a fight next week. Thunderstorms are going to try to come to our rescue as well over the next few days.
Outside of any storms today… highs will hit the 90s with a heat index better than 100 degrees. The west will sizzle even more with several areas approaching 100 degrees on the actual thermometer. Yes… nothing has changed with the heat yet. ![]()
Thunderstorms will try to go up again today and these will help out some areas. Some of the storms could be on the strong side and will put down a lot of rain that can cause some local high water issues. Again… not everyone will see storms today. Here is hoping you get one to beat the heat for a bit today. ![]()
Track the storms here…
A cold front moves in for Sunday and Monday with a much greater threat for showers and thunderstorms. Severe weather will be possible along with torrential rains.
I will try to update that and the cooler weather for next week later today. Take care.

Thanks for the update, Chris. I never thought I’d be so glad to hear [read] the words “cold front.” Fall can NOT get here fast enough!
Looks like the tropics are showing signs of coming to life now…If this were to verify, there would be 3 tropical systems to keep an eye on at the same time.

Thank you Chris.
If any storm is to go severe today, the biggest threat, according to the SPC, will be wind downbursts.
Will keep an eye on it.
