Good Friday everyone and welcome to the end of what has been a fairly wild weather week. From the extreme heat across the western half of the state to the hit or miss severe weather… Your friendly weather dude needs a break. I’m sure we all would like a break from the humidity and that is exactly what we will get over the next few days.
Let’s break it all down with the headlines…
– Partly sunny skies will be with us today as temps top out in the middle 80s across the east to near 90 in the far west. You will notice some lower humidity levels… but the drier air is lagging a bit.
– That drier and slightly cooler air moves in for Saturday with more in the way of sunshine and temps in the low and mid 80s across the east and the mid and upper 80s out west.
– This is similar to what happened last weekend… but this air mass is not as “fresh” as that one. Still… no one will complain as it’s much better than what we have had this week. Plus… its rolling in for the weekend. ![]()
– Sunday will see more partly sunny skies to round out the weekend as thermometers begin to rise again. We should see upper 80s for most of the region. The far west says hello to the 90s again.
– Did someone say 90s? If you did… mother nature is listening as lower 90s and an increase in humidity levels will be with us for much of next week. ![]()
In the meantime… get out your best “80s” wear and enjoy what we have all been working for…
If that won’t make you get up and dance… nothing will. Well… on second thought. ![]()
Have a great Friday and take care.
Thanks Chris.
No matter what the weather, your blog is always a joy to read. Thanks for starting my day off right, Mr. B!
I was hoping we’d play “Man vs. Computer” again. 🙁
Me too!
Chris was much better up until the last day–that heat even exceeded what the NWS had forecasted.
I think even Lexington would have made a run for 100 if the storms hadn’t blow up.
I still think he had an amazing run for the first 5 days. He is one of the best pure forecasters I’ve ever seen. I wish in most 5 day forecast periods I would be as few off as he was on highs.
Yes, please publish the final totals. Even with that last day a miss, Chris was still winning by a country mile.
If the official forecast plays out as predicted from now, next week could be a copy of this week. I.E., more 110°F+ heat indices. Should make for an intersting week…as we now sit firmly in the middle of astronomical Summer.
I hope this does not pan out because with no rain here in the Lexington area I am sure it will be hotter than last week.
Love the video and weekend.
Lexington may hit 100 next week.
🙁
Loverboy. Gaaad. It was bad then. It’s still bad.
I concur. I guess if Russia is staying n the 100’s we should be expected to hit it as well.
