Good evening gang. We have a wild weather ride ahead of us as winter fights back into the bluegrass state. This is all part of our winter that won’t end. Here’s a breakdown:
– Temps on Tuesday will hit 70 for much of the region.
– Rain and some thunderstorms will roll from west to east Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
– Temps early Wednesday will be in the 50s and then tank from west to east.
– By late afternoon and early evening… upper 20s to low 30s are showing up. Gusty winds make it feel colder.
– Rain will change to a period of snow as the cold air works in. Some models are suggesting a light accumulation…
– Thursday morning will see readings in the teens with wind chill numbers even lower. A few spots could hit zero or below…I’m also watching the late weekend and early next week storm system for it’s winter weather potential. Spring… it’s overrated.
Take care.
Overrated? Surely you jest:)
I love the smell of sarcasm in the evening. The 68 degree evening.
NWS Jackson seems a little more exited that the models on this post regarding snow. That’s interesting. Hoping this isn’t too much of an overachiever, but it will be quite a clash of seasons to witness.
Thanks Chris. It’s been nice leaving the long johns in the drawer. Guess I will have to pull them back out Thursday morning. ~BIG sigh. Just wondering what this will do to the young buds that are coming out on the trees, if anything. Hopefully it won’t last long and warm will win out again. ( well one can hope, can’t they? 😉 )
Winter that won’t end? It’s not even spring yet, but if you’re one of the people that go by meteorlogical spring (like me,) then we’re only 10 days into spring. I kid, but still, I wouldn’t mind cold as long as it comes with appreciable snow. Not half and inch, but at least one or more. If not that, then bring on the 70’s!
All the sarcasm and negativity towards the colder, rainier, and more winter-like episodes of spring remind me of all the negativity on this blog before winter began. We humans just aren’t satisfied with the now. I say bring on tomorrow’s 70 degree day, and bring on Wednesdays weather battle of wills, and then Friday’s warm up, and then the weekend’s cold fronts! Above all, may the odds, i mean the snow, be ever in our favor.
Be careful, Jeff Hamlin will knock you down with big words he found on Google.
Uh-oh.
Beth you should really consider getting a life.
50s 5 out of the next 6 days (and 5 out of the first 9 days of the month so far). Winter?
Really love the crazy weather this time of year. Might go out in a heavy coat tomorrow and wear some shorts and a t-shirt out Thursday just to fit in.
