Good Thursday to one and all. We are finally getting a cold front to work across the state today and this will usher in some MUCH better weather to start off the weekend. That is certainly music to my ears as I am tired of the hot, humid and stormy pattern we have been stuck in all spring and summer.
The front will push through here later today and will carry more scattered showers and thunderstorms with it as it does so. Locally heavy downpours will again be possible. I know… yada yada yada. The best threat for showers and storms should be early in the day before the drier air works in from the north. Here are your radars…
Once the front blows through here… we will be set for an awesome weather day on Friday. Humidity levels will drop way down and with temps in the 80-85 degree range with sunshine… awesome if the word I would use! ![]()
The “awesome” weather won’t last long as warmer air tries to fight in here Saturday. As this happens… watch the northwestern skies for the potential for some showers and thunderstorms sinking in here ahead of the warmth. The models are having a tough time with this little feature dropping in here and waffle back and forth some. Here is the latest Nam run for Saturday afternoon…

Hot and humid weather is likely to fight back in from the southwest by later Sunday into early next week. The 90s are likely to return during this time. Just like every heat wave of the summer… the core of the heat will stay away from us. It looks like parts of the ozarks into the deep south will fry for a few days. The European Model is spitting out 105 degree temps into sections of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. No thanks!
The heat will try to get pushed back to the west by the middle of the week by… you guessed it… showers and thunderstorms.
I will give this summer one thing… it is consistent!
A couple of things I am noticing about the overall pattern the next few weeks. The tropics continue to look fairly quiet and there may be quite the cold air buildup across Canada taking place. Could that be the sign of a chilly fall ahead? ![]()
Have a great Thursday and take care.

I like the talk of cold air starting to build in Canada.
