Good Friday everyone and welcome to the weekend. It is shaping up to be a hot and humid kickoff to out double dose of days off work. Scattered storms are back in our weather picture for a little while so your outdoor weekend plans may include a duck and dodge from some raindrops.

I am taking some time off from my real job this week… but the blog NEVER sees a day off or a holiday… but I will keep it fairly brief anyway.

The weather today will feature temps within a few degrees of 90 as those scattered boomers go up.

Here is your assortment of radars to track the storms…

A better chance for showers and storms will be with us overnight and during the day Saturday.  Locally heavy rains are a good bet in several areas as we will continue to see a good amount of moisture in the atmosphere.

GFS Saturday Evening

Very warm and humid weather will hang tough into your Sunday with another shot at a scattered storm or two.

Next week will feature the core of the heat hanging across the western half of the country. That does not mean it wont be very warm to hot around here on any given day. However… the orientation of the heat ridge will mean we have a pretty good shot at showers and thunderstorms… especially the first half of the week.

GFS Monday Evening

I will have updates as needed through the weekend so y’all come back now… ya hear!

Have a great Friday and take care.
