Good Friday everyone and welcome to the weekend. It is shaping up to be a hot and humid kickoff to out double dose of days off work. Scattered storms are back in our weather picture for a little while so your outdoor weekend plans may include a duck and dodge from some raindrops.
I am taking some time off from my real job this week… but the blog NEVER sees a day off or a holiday… but I will keep it fairly brief anyway.
The weather today will feature temps within a few degrees of 90 as those scattered boomers go up.
Here is your assortment of radars to track the storms…
A better chance for showers and storms will be with us overnight and during the day Saturday. Locally heavy rains are a good bet in several areas as we will continue to see a good amount of moisture in the atmosphere.
GFS Saturday Evening
Very warm and humid weather will hang tough into your Sunday with another shot at a scattered storm or two.
Next week will feature the core of the heat hanging across the western half of the country. That does not mean it wont be very warm to hot around here on any given day. However… the orientation of the heat ridge will mean we have a pretty good shot at showers and thunderstorms… especially the first half of the week.
GFS Monday Evening
I will have updates as needed through the weekend so y’all come back now… ya hear!
Have a great Friday and take care.
Getting a new HVAC unit next week……come on old one! Hold out for a few more days!
Have a good weekend Chris……you deserve it!
Thanks for the update, Chris. Now enjoy the rest of your time off!
Woohoo! Christmas in July! Are you getting a high efficiency, environmentally friendly unit installed?
Yes, looking forward to having a system that doesn’t fail us several times each season. This one is WAY more efficient so we should see a big reduction on utility bills also. It sure does hurt the old pocketbook, though!
Amazing how the showers just evaporated this morning as they approached the Lexington area. Got a few sprinkles. I feel cheated by the systems that are coming through and what the models show compared to what the Lexington area actually is getting. I am sure it will rain a ton Monday from Lexington towards Cincy since I will be a Kings Island.

Hey Marie
I’ve done a lot of reading about HVAC since having so many problems with my 5 and a half year old unit…..Based on what I’ve read, proper installation is much more important than the brand of the unit. You can buy the most expensive unit and it can fail if you get a hack install…..Hopefully you’re having a reputable company do it. Good luck
I know!! Like the past few days the front was up in northern Ohio and storms were developing along the front and way south of here. So the front came over top of us and the storms developed way south of the front….I feel cheated too. Although we have had a few good rains here in Lex recently. But not any storms really. I’m trying to remember the last time I actually heard thunder or saw lightning…It’s been a while…
Exactly! I want some storms. I guess this past week we have had like 2 inches of rain but it seems like it is still has dry and as hot.
